It is part of the trilogy of films featuring reporter Georges Masse. It was preceded by Mission in Tangier in 1949 and followed by Massacre in Lace (1952). Masse investigates the death of a woman who had been trying to gain information of drug-smuggling organisations in the Far East.
Synopsis

Grand reporter à "Paris-Matin", le désinvolte et séduisant Georges Masse est un homme couvert de femmes. Il interrompt ses vacances pour éliminer une bande de gangsters opérant sur la Lagune de Venise. Aidé du gaffeur mais fidèle P'tit-Louis, il démasque successivement l'énigmatique Sophocle Zélos et Alessandro Cassidi, époux trop âgé de la troublante Clara qui meurt dans ses bras. Il ne reste plus à Masse qu'à poursuivre ses vacances avec l'adorable commissaire de police Thérésa Larsen.

Bernard Lawrence (Tony Curtis) is an American journalist stationed in Paris, France.
