Synopsis
Il y a 13 ans, une partie de Tokyo s'est détachée du socle de la Terre et flotte désormais dans le ciel. Les années ont passé et la communication entre ce que l'on appelle le « Vieux Tokyo » et le « Nouveau Tokyo » a été rompue. Mais un jour, une jeune fille comprend que la partie flottante de Tokyo s'apprête à s'écraser sur la Terre et va alors tout faire pour tenter de sauver des milliers de personnes d'une catastrophe imminente.Actors

The Genesect Army comes to a mountainous, snowy area that used to be their home. However, three hundred million years have passed, and it is no longer habitable. Suddenly, an avalanche occurs, but Mewtwo arrives and manages to save four of the five Genesect. Mewtwo peers into the mind of the Douse Drive Genesect and learns what they are looking for: their home. The Red Genesect, whom Mewtwo was unable to save, then appears and attacks Mewtwo, and the Genesect Army flies off. Later, they see the skyline of a large city and mistake it for their home, leading them to travel there.

In 2034, two years after the events of 2nd GIG, Public Security Section 9 is investigating a string of mysterious suicides by refugees from the Siak Republic. Chief Aramaki conducts a raid to arrest the refugee dictator only to find him already dead. In retaliation, a Siak operative plans a terrorist attack with a micromachine virus. Batou is sent to intercept the Siak operative and encounters Kusanagi, who is conducting her own investigation. Before they can apprehend the operative, he dies while attacking them. Kusanagi takes a case of virus ampules and warns Batou to stay away from the Solid State Society before leaving.
