Synopsis
Claire trouve dans le jardin de ses parents un garçon de son âge grièvement blessé et ne parlant pas sa langue. Elle le soigne en cachette mais découvre rapidement qu'il s'agit d'un passeur de drogue, poursuivi par des trafiquants. Pour le sauver, Claire s'enfuit avec lui. The film is a depiction of the life of Ingrid Jonker (1933–65) (played by Van Houten), an Afrikaner. Her mother has died in a mental hospital, she lives with her sister at her grandmother's. After the passing of her grandmother Ingrid and her sister come to live with their father Abraham (played by Hauer), who treats them as outsiders. Ingrid marries, and gives birth to a daughter, but the marriage does not last. It is the era of apartheid, of which her father is a strong proponent, being South Africa's Minister of Censorship. Ingrid is opposed to the apartheid regime, and has a strained relationship with her father. He opposes her relationship with author Jack Cope (played by Cunningham) and her anti-apartheid poetry, which is inciteful in his eyes. He would like to ban one of her works but doesn't, fearing a widespread riot.

Tate (Teetje) and his friends rob a jewelry store in the middle of the night. The guards catch them red handed, but they manage to escape with the loot, which consists mainly of Rolexes. It becomes clear that this type of criminality is a habit for Tate, but when he meets his girlfriend Mary, he promises her to 'quit the life'. In order to do so, he buys a Russian ship that is offered to him for €100,000 and was said to have electronics on board, worth at least two million. To be able to buy the ship, he borrows money from his friends with whome he did the robbery, thinking that he can easily pay them back shortly. After the purchase is complete, Tate visits the ship and finds out that there is a 30-man Russian crew on board, and only little food. He also finds out that along with the ship, he also bought a €200,000 debt to Yugoslavia and hence, the ship has been chained. On top of that, it turns out that the crew hasn't been paid any wages for the past three years, which is the time the Russian crew have been stuck on board the ship in the Rotterdam harbour.

Le roi Henry II garde sa femme, Eleanor, enfermée dans les tours à cause de ses fréquentes tentatives de le renverser. College student Shae (Danielle Panabaker) blows off going to a party with her friend Karen (Reyna de Courcy) to go to The Hamptons for the weekend with her boyfriend Terry (Andrew Howard), an older man who is separated from his wife. They do not speak and after he closes the door, she leaves. That night, she goes to a bar where she works. During her shift, she goes to the cloak room and starts to cry. She is interrupted by her colleague Lu (Nicole LaLiberte), who comforts her and invites her out for a drink over Shae's breakup with Terry.
