Murder 2 is a 2011 Indian psychological thriller film and the quasi-sequel to the 2004 film, Murder and the second film in the Murder film series. It stars Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez and Prashant Narayanan in leading roles, with Sulagna Panigrahi featuring in a pivotal role. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, the film released on 8 July 2011. The theatrical trailer of the film was revealed on 1 June 2011 and also in cinemas with Ready. It was the second film in a series of quasi-sequels released under the Bhatt Banner including Raaz – The Mystery Continues, Jannat 2, Jism 2, Raaz 3D and 1920: Evil Returns, each of which had nothing to do with their respective prequels, but somehow fell into the same genre following a similar story. Murder 2 is an uncredited remake of South Korean film The Chaser (2008), with the only major difference is the addition of the protagonist's love interest. The film did well at the box office and was declared a "blockbuster" by Box Office India. It is one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2011.
Synopsis
Arjun Bhagwat (Emraan Hashmi) is an ex-police officer who is hungry for money and earns his bread by doing wrong things. He is an atheist (Nastik) but regularly visits church to donate money to orphans. Priya (Jacqueline Fernandez), a model, is in a passionate but confused relationship with Arjun. Whilst Priya is in love with Arjun, Arjun merely lusts for her and he forces upon her in the beginning of movie but she too enjoys his company.Actors

18 years ago, the Darr family, consisting of Pushkaran (Amitabh Bhattacharjee) and his son, Kunal (Kunal Khemu), were forced to leave Kashmir by terrorists, who had forced thousands of other Kashmiri Pandits to be mere refugees in their very own country. Pushkaran and Kunal re-locate to Bombay, where they live in a small room. This is where Kunal grows up, and gets a job at a gym. Then one day, the police knock on his door, informing him that his father had lost his hold from a crowded local train, fallen, and instantly killed. A devastated Kunal arranges his father's funeral, and before he could reconcile to living alone, his relatives contact him from Jammu, informing him that his father had promised to look after a young woman named Renuka (Smiley Suri). Kunal agrees to fulfill his father's promise.

The storyline revolves around Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), a heart broken and introvert atheist, gangster, and right-hand man of Malik (Ashutosh Rana), officially a businessman who runs a chain of hotels in Hong Kong. Shivam is given the responsibility of one of these hotels, which he bears capably and well, making it much more successful than Malik's other hotels. Malik holds Shivam in the highest esteem due to Shivam's loyalty, reliability, and business acumen, and treats him like an adored son whom he entrusts with almost everything - indeed, more so than his biological son, Ronnie. This is the cause of much jealousy on Ronnie's part against Shivam, but due to Malik's outspoken support for Shivam, Ronnie does not dare do openly oppose him. When Sub-Inspector Joseph Pinto finds that his foster son, Jai Dixit (Emraan Hashmi), sired by a deceased, re-formed gangster, has taken to crime, he arranges for his re-location to Melbourne, and has his name changed to Suraj Bhardwaj (Emraan Hashmi). Jai does re-locate there, and gets hired as a taxi-driver. He gets attracted to Suhani (Neha Sharma), much to the of her brother, Samarth (Arjan Bajwa), who wants her to marry Gurdaspur-based Romi Latti (Kavin Dave), who is also in Melbourne on a university scholarship. With mounting racially-motivated attacks and profiling ('Curry Boy', 'Indian Curry') against Indian students, Samarth (Arjan Bajwa) actively protests - but Jai refrains from doing so - even after Romi (Kavin Dave) is badly beaten by Caucasian youth. The protest results in violence, and Samarth (Arjan Bajwa) is arrested. On the day of his discharge, Jai (Emraan Hashmi) is told by a stripper, Nicole (Shella Alan), that plans are afoot to kill Samarth (Arjan Bajwa), and he decides to intervene. He does succeed and even accompanies Suhani (Neha Sharma) to the Police Station to identify her brother's attackers.

The story starts with an American visiting the Kalindi Temple at night. There he sees the priest of the temple in a horrific state – he had slit his body with a scythe and had written 'Om' on his body. The man, horrified by what he is seeing, flees from there. The story then shifts to a model in her early 20s, Nandita (Kangna Ranaut) who is in love with Yash, (Adhyayan Suman) a director and host of the reality show "Andhvishwas" a show dealing with various superstitions of ghosts and tantric voodoos. Yash gifts Nandita an apartment where they start living and they love each other, in the meantime Nandita gets pregnant.

A quiet girl, Madeleine (Christina Lindberg), is sexually assaulted during her childhood, and the trauma makes her mute. One day when she is older she accepts a ride from a man, Tony (Heinz Hopf), who makes her a heroin addict, and then becomes her pimp. To hide the fact that she was kidnapped, the Pimp writes hateful letters to the parents who become so distraught they commit suicide. At one point, she is stabbed in the eye for refusing a client. In New York City during the middle of a hot summer, body parts of men are showing up in the Hudson River.
