Synopsis
Following a mysterious decapitation (via mechanical digger) of an insurance investigator, Police Inspector Peretti is put onto the case. Slowly more people are found dead... a man supposedly commits suicide, a women is strangled, another attacked in her flat... but all the clues lead to an unsolved case of kidnapping and murder. Can Peretti find the murderer, if his major clue is a little girls drawing?Actors

Chirurgiens expérimentés, Roberto Carli et Michele Azzini sont réputés pour être des sommités du monde médical et exercent ensemble dans la clinique appartenant à Elena, la femme de Roberto, dont elle a hérité de son père. Celle-ci avait une liaison avec Roberto et Azzini la soupçonne d'avoir toujours des sentiments amoureux pour lui. Dès lors, fou d'elle, il veut l'éloigner de lui en l'épousant. Secrètement amoureuse de lui, Elena s'inquiète de son départ qui pourrait apporter un discrédit à l'établissement et lui propose un poste d'associé plus valorisant. Mais elle lui fait une proposition alléchante : s'il reste, elle lui donne une grande part des actions de sa clinique au détriment de Luisi qui, en plus d'être épris d'elle, se retrouverait lésé. Atteinte d'une grave maladie au cœur, dont le moindre choc émotionnel pourrait la tuer, Elena est prête à tout pour garder Azzini.

Newly married to an older man, Julie returns to Vienna, where a razor wielding slasher is killing women. One of the more prominent works of Italy's premier horror stylist Mario Bava, this occult murder mystery interweaves elements of the traditional giallo thriller formula with an unusual Gothic ghost story. In a turn-of-the-century Carpathian village a series of murders are occurring in which the victims are found with silver coins embedded in their hearts. The coins are revealed to be talismans placed on the victims by the town witch (Fabienne Dali), meant to ward off the supernatural powers of the aged Baroness Graps (Giana Vivaldi). The baroness has been performing these duties for the ghost of her murdered daughter, who wants to claim the villagers' souls.
