Synopsis
Jeune femme africaine, Vita est victime d'une malédiction qui frappe sa famille depuis des générations : toute femme qui tentera de chanter mourra. Pour fuir la malédiction, elle part en Europe. À Paris, Vita fait la connaissance d'un jeune musicien, Pierre, et tombe amoureuse de lui. Oubliant tout, elle se laisse aller à chanter. Pierre, subjugué par sa voix magnifique, la persuade d'enregistrer un disque. Pour surmonter cette transgression, elle décide alors de retourner chez elle, d'avouer son acte à sa mère et d'affronter la tradition ancestrale.Actors

The film begins with three furry aliens--the blue Mac (Goldblum), the yellow Zeebo (Wayans), and the red Wiploc (Carrey)--traveling in a space ship. It's been a long time since they've had female companionship, and they receive a broadcast showing human females. They are titillated by these "hairless", shapely creatures and discover that the broadcast came from Earth, so they set off toward Earth and Southern California.

Avec l'arrivée du cinéma parlant et les prémices du Technicolor les grandes compagnies cinématographiques hollywoodiennes décidèrent de mettre en chantier ce que l'on n'appelait pas encore "superproduction". De fait il s'agissait de réunir dans un même film l'ensemble des acteurs composant leurs écuries respectives. Ainsi la Warner Bros. fit-elle réaliser son The Show of Shows tandis que de son côté La Métro sortait Hollywood chante et danse rassemblant ses comédiens parmi lesquels naturellement Stan Laurel et Oliver Hardy. Pas de scénario dans ce fil qui est composé d'une succession de numéros musicaux pour lesquels les acteurs furent invités à faire un peu le contraire de ce qu'ils faisaient d'habitude à l'écran. Laurel et Hardy s'en tirent plutôt bien en jouant les présentateurs magiciens.

The film begins with a scene in which the Palestinians and Jews are both snapping, similar to the opening scene of West Side Story. The two parties head in to their own stands and sing about their own family-owned falafel stands, Hummus Hut and Kosher King ("Our People Must Be Fed/Our People Must Be Served").
