Nitro is a 2007 Canadian action film. Directed by Alain Desrochers, the film stars Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge as Max, a former drag racer who is forced to return to his criminal past when his girlfriend (Myriam Tallard) requires a heart transplant. The film also stars Lucie Laurier as Morgane, a female drag racer who assists Max in his quest to locate a suitable organ for his girlfriend's surgery.
The film, which has not yet opened in English Canada, ranked #5 in national box office on its first weekend just on the strength of its $700,000 opening in Quebec. Within Quebec, the film outsold both Live Free or Die Hard and Ratatouille.

Emprisonné depuis 6 ans, Max reçoit régulièrement des nouvelles de son fils Theo. Cependant, il ignore que son fils est un cybercriminel qui collabore avec l'Avocat dans le but de mettre la main sur la formule d'une drogue très puissante, le Nitro Rush. Après une bagarre où il a failli perdre sa vie, une agente lui propose de quitter la prison pour retrouver son fils mais à la condition de l'aider à découvrir où se cachent les deux chimistes qui peaufinent la mise au point de cette drogue. Max accepte, mais s'échappe plus tôt que prévu de la prison.

The Driver (Ryan O'Neal) - real name unknown - has made a career out of stealing cars to use as getaway vehicles in big-time robberies all over Los Angeles.
