Om Shanti Om is a 2007 Indian film directed and choreographed by Farah Khan. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and debutant Deepika Padukone in the lead roles while Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, and Kirron Kher feature in supporting roles. More than forty-two well-known Hindi movie stars appear in the course of the film, including thirty of them (not including the stars of the film) in one song alone. The film is set in the 1970s and 2000s; it pays tribute to, and pokes fun at, the Indian film industry of both these eras.
The film was released in 2,000 prints worldwide making it the largest Indian cinematic release at the time. Om Shanti Om was released on 9 November 2007 to mostly positive reviews from critics and record-breaking box office collections. It grossed ₹1.49 billion worldwide and thus became the highest-grossing Hindi film at the time of its release.
Synopsis
Om Prakash Makhija (Shah Rukh Khan) is a junior artist in the 1970s Hindi film industry, in love with film star Shanti Priya (Deepika Padukone). One evening, Om views the premiere of Shanti's film Dream Girl, posing as Manoj Kumar. Later that night, Om becomes drunk and describes his vision of himself as a famous, wealthy film star winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actor to his friend Pappu (Shreyas Talpade) and some local children. At the shooting of a later film, Om rescues Shanti from a fire scene where of the fire has escaped control, and they become friends. One day, after following Shanti, he overhears her and producer Mukesh Mehra's (Arjun Rampal) conversation, that Mukesh and Shanti have married in secret and Shanti is pregnant and expects a traditional wedding. Mukesh pretends to be happy with the news, and invites Shanti at the set of their soon-to-be-made film Om Shanti Om. Mukesh promises to cancel the film, reveal their marriage to the public, and have a grand wedding on the set; but instead traps Shanti on the set and sets it on fire to prevent a financial loss and to protect his career. The movie is about the relationship between India and Pakistan. The governments of India and Pakistan have launched, "Project Milaap", where both the governments will release the POWs from the previous wars. Raghavan (Sunil Shetty), a deranged ex-army man-turned-militant does not want the peaceful operation to turn to reality and makes an attempt on Gen. Amarjeet Bakshi (Kabir Bedi)'s life. While trying to rescue Gen. Bakshi , Brigadier Shekhar Sharma (Naseeruddin Shah) falls prey to a stray bullet. While on deathbed he confesses to his son Major Ram Prasad Sharma (Shahrukh Khan) that his wife and son had left him many years ago due to his infidelity. He tells Ram his last wish: his family be reunited under one roof, and dies. Meanwhile, Gen. Bakshi tells Ram that his teenage daughter Sanjana's life is in danger, and asks him to go undercover to Darjeeling and pose as a student in Sanjana's class in front of her own eyes. As the fate would have it, Ram learns that his younger brother Laxman "Lucky" (Zayed Khan) is studying at the same college. So Maj. Ram starts off on his dual mission: personal and national. While at the college he falls in love the new chemistry teacher but, keeps making a fool of himself when singing. He meets Sanju (Amrita Rao), who has a very hard time impressing Lucky since she has a crush on him. Since one of the aims of the mission is to provide protection to Sanju, he tries getting close to her but she has only one thing on her mind, impressing Lucky. Sanju is constantly being irritated by Ram because of his attempts at friendship and she eventually complains to Lucky about him. Since he is the coolest guy on campus and Ram is the uncle type they don't get along at all. Lucky, being the mischievous guy he is, ends up in a competition of getting to the roof of the school and in a sudden turn of events ends up hanging from the roof. Ram saves him. This causes all barriers to collapse between them and they become best of friends. Automatically, Sanju also gets close to Ram. Soon thereafter, Ms. Sharma (Kirron Kher), Lucky's mother, advertises for a paying guest in their house in order to make ends meet and thus Maj. Ram ends up in their house. Sanju soon starts wearing new kinds of clothes after visiting Ms. Chandini (Sushmita Sen) the chemistry teacher, along with Ram.Soon, when Ram expresses his feelings to Ms. Chandini, she tells him she feels the same way but they can't be together because she was older than him. In addition, Lucky falls in love with Sanju because of her new look. Lucky and, Ms.Sharma find out that Ram is actually Shekar's son and kicks him out of their house when he is about explain. Ram discovers Raghavan has kidnapped Sanjana.Raghavan and Ram have a deadly fight. But, surprisingly Ram wins the fight even though he is wounded by a bullet shot inflicted by Raghavan. Later it shows everybody at college having a party. There it is revealed that it was Ram's graduation party. It shows Lucky and Sanju expressing their feelings to each other.

Rahul Mithaiwala (Shahrukh Khan) is a forty-year-old bachelor living in Mumbai. His parents died in a car accident when he was eight years old, so his grandparents raised him. His grandfather (Lekh Tandon) owns a chain of confectionery shops where Rahul has been a dedicated worker helping his grandfather. Two of Rahul's friends convince to finally take a vacation and travel with them to Goa. Rahul's grandfather dies on the day of the 100th birthday celebration. His grandmother tells Rahul that his grandfather wanted his ashes to be divided into two parts—one of each to be immersed in the Ganges and Rameswaram. She asks Rahul to take the ashes to Rameswaram and disperse them. While he accepts her request, Rahul and his friends plan to dump the ashes at Goa but his grandmother wants to see him off, forcing Rahul to travel by train. He books a single ticket on the Chennai Express, planning to quickly exit and meet his friends along the way. However, as he tries to leave the train, he notices a young woman running to board it. He helps her and then four large men board the moving train, missing his chance to debark.

The story follows Aarush, (Akshay Kumar), a 'Panauti' who works in bar and gets money as people lose games of poker. In mid-2000s, the illegal drug trade based in Kuala Lumpur is booming. The Malaysian authorities are called upon for assistance by their Indian counterparts. The Indian team sent to Kuala Lumpur is headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police D'Silva (Boman Irani), who targets the illegal drug operations of Singhania (Rajesh Khattar). Helping him along the way is Inspector Vishal Malik (Om Puri), an Indian officer from Interpol. Both of them know that in order to put an end to the illegal drug trade, they must capture "Don" (Shah Rukh Khan) who manages Singhania's business in Kuala Lumpur. Singhania was one of the two closest and most trusted men of Boris, a criminal who went underground and was presumed dead by the police. Boris's other lieutenant was a man called Vardhan, equally ruthless as Singhania, but his whereabouts are unknown. The police thinks that Singhania had killed Vardhan upon learning that Boris was about to hand over his drug business to Vardhan.

Widower Hemant Rastogi lives in scenic Mahabaleshwar, seemingly alone. One night he has a heart attack and passes away. When the Police search his residence they find Tejas, Hemant's only son, in the basement of the house. Tejas has spent his entire life in the basement and as a result of this is extremely sensitive to sunlight. The Police ask Purva Rana, head of P.R. Institute (an institute for the rehabilitation of young criminals) to look after Tejas, whose only experience of other people up until this point has been with his father and the books he provided for him. Tejas starts showing signs of Telekenesis, and is shunned by the other boys in the institute, resulting in the near fatal accident of a security guard and the death of a fellow student. Tenzin redeems himself in the eyes of Purva's wealthy father, Pushkar, when he is able to wake his wife, Gayetri Rana, from a coma-like condition. It looks like Tejas has been accepted into the Rana household, but he is subsequently harassed by doctors and scientists wishing to perform experiments on him. When Tejas and Pushkar both refuse to be part of these experiments, Tejas is abducted and held in a glass chamber by Dr. Richard Dyer, who wants to control his mind for his own benefit. Purva realises that Tejas has been abducted, and is fatally injured by Dr. Dyer in a rescue attempt. At the sight of this, Tejas' anger causes his powers to surge, shattering the glass cage and killing Dr. Dyer brutally and Purva gets electrocuted. Tejas successfully brings back her to life by shock therapy using both his hands. The film ends with Purva and Tejas driving away in sunset.

Shekhar Subramanium (Khan), a game designer who works for the London-based Barron Industries, has delivered a number of commercial failures; an irate Barron (Tahil) gives him his last chance to develop a successful game. To impress his sceptical son Prateek (Verma), and upon the request of his wife Sonia (Kapoor), Shekhar uses his son's idea that the antagonist should be more powerful than the protagonist. His colleague, computer programmer Jenny (Goswami), uses Shekhar's face as a model for that of the game's protagonist G.One (Technically Good One and in Hindi Jeevan, which means life), while the shape-shifting antagonist Ra.One (Technically Random Access Version One and in Hindi Ravan, a mythical demon) is made faceless. Another colleague, Akashi (Wu), implements the characters' movements. The game, named Ra.One, contains three levels, the final level being the only one in which either character can be killed. Each character possesses a special device – the H.A.R.T (Hertz Amplifying Resonance Transmitter) which gives them their powers. Upon reaching the last level, the characters gain a gun with one bullet; the other character can be killed by this bullet but only if his H.A.R.T is attached.

Moments after they part, Dev is hit by a car and permanently injures his leg; as a result, he is no longer able to play soccer.
