One Deadly Summer (French: L'été meurtrier) is a French film directed by Jean Becker. Isabelle Adjani won a César award for her performance in this film. The film was a massive hit in France gaining 5,137,040 admissions and was the 2nd highest grossing film of the year. The film is based on a 1977 novel by Sébastien Japrisot (whose real name is Jean-Baptiste Rossi).
Synopsis
In this tragic tale of misunderstanding, obsession, and increasing madness, "Elle," a beautiful young woman (Isabelle Adjani) settles into a small town in the south of France with her introverted mother (Maria Machado) and physically handicapped father and soon becomes the subject of wild speculation because of her aloofness and at the same time, her obvious sexuality. The young woman is actually caught up in the desire to avenge the long-ago rape of her mother, a rape committed by three men who had arrived at her isolated house in a van which contained an old piano which they were delivering. A shy car mechanic (Alain Souchon) becomes enamored of her, and the woman suddenly sees him in a different light when she learns that his father, now dead, was an Italian immigrant who had owned and tried unsuccessfully to pawn the piano. Intent on taking action against the mechanic's family to right the wrong suffered by her mother, the daughter begins to lose her grip on sanity when she finds out that the men she suspects of the rape are actually innocent. In fact, her father had long ago exacted his own vengeance on the real culprits. This knowledge pushes her over the edge, and she has to be institutionalized. Meanwhile, the young mechanic misunderstands what happened and that leads to tragedy; he tracks down and kills the innocent men Elle had suspected of raping her mother, believing them to be responsible for Elle's current condition.Actors

Roberto La Rocca, au passé trouble, s'est retiré des « affaires » à la campagne. Un jour, un informateur lui apprend que son ami Xavier Adé a été injustement incarcéré pour meurtre. Afin de venir en aide à son ami, La Rocca contacte à Marseille Villanova, l'ex-associé de Xavier qu'il soupçonne de cette machination. Lors de leur affrontement, La Rocca l'abat et, du coup, renoue avec le milieu en accaparant son tripot. Il poursuit néanmoins son objectif en joignant Geneviève, la sœur de Xavier. Lors d'un racket, il est blessé et capturé. Il retrouve Xavier en prison. On leur propose d'anticiper leur libération s'ils acceptent de participer au déminage de garrigues maritimes restées piégées depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Lors de l'une de ces dangereuses opérations, Xavier perd un bras en voulant protéger La Rocca. Cet acte héroïque leur vaut d'être immédiatement libérés. Pour l'avenir, Xavier et Geneviève souhaitent s'associer avec La Rocca en achetant ensemble une grande propriété. Sans en informer La Rocca, Xavier profite de l'infirmité de Nevada, un riche truand, pour lui extorquer l'argent nécessaire. Pendant que Xavier est parti signer l'acte d’achat, les hommes de main de Nevada font irruption à son domicile où ils trouvent La Rocca et Geneviève. Durant la rixe qui s'ensuit, Geneviève est mortellement blessée en s'interposant devant le revolver qui visait La Rocca. Celui-ci rompt définitivement son amitié avec Xavier qu'il rend responsable du décès de Geneviève.

Alexandre Beck is a doctor who has slowly been putting his life back together after his wife Margot was murdered by a serial killer. Eight years on, Alex is doing well, until he finds himself implicated in a double homicide, which has plenty of evidence pointing to him as the killer – though he knows nothing of the crimes. The same day, Alex receives an email that appears to be from Margot, which includes a link to a surveillance video clip that features his late wife looking alive and well. The message warns Alex that they are both being watched. He struggles to stay one step ahead of the law, while henchmen intimidate Alex's friends into telling them whatever they might know about him – the henchmen eventually kill one of them, Charlotte. 1980, in a rural village in the Lyon region, Saint-Julien-sur-Bibost Joseph Poacher says "Jojo" and his wife Lucienne called "Lulu", nagging shrew and inveterate alcoholic, lead a married life for the less confrontational, in their farm located in a place called "Paradise". Labbé, a hatter in a French provincial town, leads the life of a respectable citizen but is in fact a serial murderer. The only person to suspect this is his neighbour Kachoudas, an Armenian tailor. After the hatter kills his own wife, he then kills six of her friends to stop them visiting her and prepares to murder a seventh when the intended victim dies naturally. As a substitute, he murders the maid. At the same time, Kachoudas is dying and Labbé confesses his crime to him. Then, after getting drunk he visits his favourite prostitute Berthe and kills her too, being found there in the morning by the police.
