Dialogue

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Marty: [grabs a cloth] It's a key.
Jack: No! [runs up and takes it] Much more better! It is a drawing of a key. [the crew is confused] Gentlemen, what do keys do?
Leech: Keys... unlock... things?
Gibbs: [catching on] And whatever this key unlocks, inside there's something valuable... So, we're setting out to find whatever this key unlocks?
Jack: [Opens mouth as if Gibbs correctly guessed the mission]... No. [Gibbs is confused] If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever it is we don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked... which we don't have... without first having found the key what unlocks it?
Gibbs: [understandingly] So, we're going after this key!
Jack: You're not making any sense at all, mate. [Gibbs is more confused]

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Will: Jack.
Jack: Aye?
Will: Elizabeth is in danger.
Jack: Have you considered keeping a more watchful eye on her? Maybe just lock her up somewhere.
Will: She is locked up, in a prison, bound to hang for helping you!
Jack: There comes a time when one must take responsibility for one's mistakes.

Facebook Share this quote on facebook [Pintel and Ragetti are rowing a boat after escaping from prison with the jailhouse dog that carries the keys; Ragetti reads a Bible upside down]
Ragetti: Well, I say it was Divine Providence what helped us escape from jail.
Pintel: And I say it was me being clever. Ain't that right, poochy?
Ragetti: How do you know it wasn't Divine Providence that inspired you to be clever? Anyways, I ain't stealing no ship.
Pintel: It ain't stealing, it's salvaging. And since when did you care?
Ragetti: Since we're not immortal no more. We've got to take care of our immortal souls.
Pintel: You know you can't read.
Ragetti: It's the Bible, you get credit for trying.
Pintel: Pretending to the Bible's a lie! That's a mark against... [points upwards]

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Tia Dalma: You know of Davy Jones, yes? A man of the sea. A great sailor. Until he ran afoul of that which vexes all men.
Will: What vexes all men?
Tia Dalma: [seductive] What, indeed?
Gibbs: The sea?
Pintel: Sums?
Ragetti: The dichotomy of good and evil?
[Gibbs and Pintel stare at Ragetti]
Jack: A woman.
Tia Dalma: See, it was a woman. He fell in love...
Gibbs: No, no, no. I heard it was the sea he fell in love with.
Tia Dalma: Same story, different versions. And all are true. You see, it was a woman. As harsh, changing and untameable like the sea. Him never stopped loving her.

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Tia Dalma: Davy Jones cannot make port. Cannot step on land but once every ten years. Land is where you are safe, Jack Sparrow, and so you will carry land with you.
[she hands Jack a jar; he examines its contents]
Jack: Dirt. This is a jar of dirt.
Tia Dalma: Yes.
Jack: Is the jar of dirt going to help?
Tia Dalma: If you don't want it, give it back.
Jack: (clutches the jar; childishly) No!
Tia Dalma: Then it helps.

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Davy Jones: Yew have a debt to pay. Ye've been Captain of the Black Pearl fer thirteen years. That was our agreement.
Jack: Technically, I was only captain for two years, then I was viciously mutinied upon.
Davy Jones: Then ye were a poor captain, but a captain nonetheless! Have ye not introduced yerself all these years as Captain Jack Sparrow? [his crew laughs]
Jack: [referring to Will] You have my payment. One soul to serve on your ship is already over there.
Davy Jones: One soul is not equal to another.
Jack: Aha! So we've established my proposal is sound in principle, now we're just haggling over price.
Davy Jones: Price?
Jack: Just how many souls do you think my soul is worth?
[Jones considers this, then smirks]
Davy Jones: One hundred souls, three days.
Jack: You're a diamond, mate. Send me back the boy, I'll get started right off. [Maccus blocks his way]
Davy Jones: I keep the boy. A good-faith payment. That leaves ye only ninety-nine more to go [laughs]
Jack: Have you not met Will Turner? He's noble, heroic, terrific soprano. Worth at least four... maybe three and a half. And did I happen to mention... he's in love? [Jones pauses] With a girl. Due to be married. Betrothed. Dividing him from her and her from him would only be half as cruel as actually allowing them to be joined in holy matrimony, eh?
[Jones considers this, then hardens his expression]
Davy Jones: I keep the boy, ninety-nine souls! But I wonder, Sparrow, can ye live with this? Can you condemn an innocent man, a friend, to a lifetime of servitude in yer name- while ye roam free?
Jack: [thinks for a second, then grins] Yep. I'm good with it! Shall we sign it in blood... or, uh, ink? [Jones grabs Jack's marked hand with his tentacled hand, covering it in slime]
Davy Jones: [removes Jack's Black Spot] Three days.
[Davy Jones and his crew disappear]
Jack: Oh, Mr. Gibbs.
Gibbs: Aye.
Jack: Uh, I feel sullied and unusual.
Gibbs: And how do you intend to harvest these 99 souls in three days?
Jack: Fortunately, he was mum as to the condition in which these souls need be.
Gibbs: Ah...Tortuga.
Jack: [wipes his slimed hand on Gibbs' vest] Tortuga.

Facebook Share this quote on facebook Davy Jones: [watches Black Pearl sink] Jack Sparrow, our debt is settled.
Palifico: The captain goes down with his ship.
Maccus: Looks like even Jack Sparrow can't best the devil!
Davy Jones: [turns to Maccus] Open the chest.
[Maccus stares at him.]
Davy Jones: Open the chest. I need to see it!
[His crew bring out the chest. Davy Jones looks inside and sees that it is empty.]
Davy Jones: Damn you, Jack Sparrow!

Tia Dalma: [offers Elizabeth a drink] Against de cold... and de sorrow. [to Will] It's a shame. I know you're t'inking that wid the Pearl, you coulda captured the devil and set free your fadder's soul.
Will: Doesn't matter now. The Pearl's gone, along with its captain.
Gibbs: And already the world seems a little less bright. He fooled us all, right to the end. But I guess that honest streak finally won out. To Jack Sparrow.
Ragetti: Never another like Captain Jack.
Pintel: He was a gentleman of fortune, he was.
Elizabeth: He was a good man.
[They all make a toast to Jack and drink, but Elizabeth can't get herself to drink from guilt.]
Will: [to Elizabeth] If there was anything we could do to bring him back... Elizabeth-
Tia Dalma: Would you do it? Hm? Hm? [turns to Elizabeth] What... would you? Hm? [looks around room at others] What would any of you be willing to do? Hm? Would ya sail to da ends of the eart' and beyond... to fetch back Witty Jack and 'im precious Pearl?
Gibbs: [steps forward] Aye.
Pintel: Aye.
Ragetti: Aye.
Cotton's Parrot: Rawk! Aye.
Elizabeth: [nods slightly, quietly] Yes.
Will: [whispers, having waited with his own answer until after Elizabeth's] Aye.
Tia Dalma: [smiles] All right. But if you go and brave the weird and haunted shores at World's End, then you will need a captain who knows those waters.
[a pair of boots is seen walking down a staircase]
Barbossa: So tell me...what's become of my ship?
