The plot follows a stuffy, nerdy Swede, Stig-Helmer Olsson (Lasse Åberg), who travels to the fictional town of Nueva Estocolmo in Gran Canaria. At the airport in Sweden, he meets a man from Norway, Ole Bramserud (Jon Skolmen). Before the trip, he calls for a meeting with a psychiatrist called Dr. B. A:son Levander for treating his flying-fear. Levander then cons Stig-Helmer into smuggling money to Nueva Estocolmo for another of the travellers, Gösta Angerud (Roland Jansson) by telling him that he has an aunt at Nueva Estocolmo and gives Stig-Helmer the money in a christmas present. (Unknown to Stig-Helmer, the money is stuffed in a bread loaf.) Among the other travellers are two middle-aged women, Maj-Britt (Lottie Ejebrant) and Siv (Kim Anderzon); the alcoholic duo Berra Ohlsson (Sven Melander) and Robban Söderberg (Weiron Holmberg) who looks for a liquor store named Pepe's Bodega throughout the movie; and the Storch couple who are laughed at by Berra and Robban because of the similar pronouncing of Storch and stork., 1h45

Grunt the Caveman
Dorf begins the video by introducing us to 'Grunt', a caveman who looks peculiarly similar to Dorf (and is also played by Tim Conway). Grunt is credited as the caveman that 'discovers' fishing and yelling. He is not too intelligent, but he knows that 'food can be gotten from the water. The question was how to get that food out of the water and into your mouth.' After many attempts, a vine works.

A lone gunman travels to the town of Yuta, which is run by the warring clans of the white-colored Genji and red-colored Heike. After ignoring requests from both clans to join them, he is given shelter by a woman named Ruriko, who takes care of her mute grandson Heihachi. Ruriko tells the gunman that many years ago, the town prospered in gold mining until both clans fought over the gold and drove away the population. The Heike-aligned sheriff tells the gunman that in the midst of the chaos, a Heike man named Akira married a Genji woman named Shizuka and lived peacefully with their son Heihachi, until Heike leader Kiyomori killed Akira in cold blood, rendering Heihachi mute from the trauma. Seeking protection for her son, Shizuka became a prostitute for the Genji. Since then, Heihachi has been tending to a trio of red and white roses, waiting for the day they bloom., 2h19

The film begins with two bedraggled peasants, Tahei and Matashichi (Minoru Chiaki and Kamatari Fujiwara). Through conversation, they reveal that they had intended to fight alongside the Yamana clan, but turned up too late, were taken for soldiers of the defeated Akizuki clan, and forced to bury the dead. After quarreling and splitting up, the two are both captured again and forced to dig for gold in the Akizuki castle with other prisoners.
