It was nominated for three awards at the 29th Goya Awards ceremony.
Synopsis
The film is set in the 1950s. Montse (Macarena Gómez) has lost her youth taking care of younger sister Nia (Nadia de Santiago), both locked in a dark apartment in the center of Madrid. Their mother died during Nia's birth and their father (Luis Tosar) ran away, unable to handle the situation. And so, forced to act as father, mother and older sister, Montse hides from reality, feeding an obsessive, unhinged temperament. She suffers from agoraphobia and her only link to reality is Nia. That link breaks when Carlos (Hugo Silva), a neighbor of them, falls off the stairs and looks for help knocking on the only door he can drag himself towards. Someone has entered the shrew's nest, and might not come out again.Actors

Clara (Macarena Gómez) et Mario (Adrià Collado) est un jeune couple qui attend un fils. Tous deux cherchent un appartement plus spacieux pour que leur bébé soit à son aise. Tout commence quand une agent immobilier (Nuria González) convainc le couple de visiter un appartement dans une banlieue. Une fois là-bas, Clara et Mario ne sont pas contents du résultat. L'immeuble est très vieux, en très mauvais état. En plus il est dans une banlieue abandonnée ! Pas du tout intéressés, ils décident de partir. Mais l'agent immobilier en réalité est folle… elle enferme le couple et garde déjà d'autres personnes séquestrées dans certains appartements. Après avoir tenté de s'échapper à plusieurs reprises, sans succès, Clara découvre que l'agent immobilier séquestre son fils qui est encore plus fou qu'elle. Le mari de Clara est moribond, elle se retrouve seule livrée à elle-même enfermée et attachée.

The film opens with three men, José (Hugo Silva), Tony (Mario Casas), and Manuel (Jaime Ordóñez), robbing a pawn shop. Tony and Manuel are unhappy that José has brought his son Sergio (Gabriel Delgado) along on the heist and are even unhappier that the child is participating with them, as this puts both him and them at risk. The robbery initially seems to go well and the group collects a large bag full of gold rings and jewelry, only for the robbery to turn sour and for several people to die in the resulting gunfire. The men hijack a taxi and stow its unwilling driver in the trunk, then drive towards Spain's border with the intent to flee to France.

Barbara devenue adulte poursuit un rêve d'enfance, celui de ressembler à la poupée Candy. Elle pense avoir atteint son but, mais une névrose obsessionnelle la conduit à tuer de mort violente tous ceux qui d'une façon ou d'une autre la contrarient. Elle se cherche aussi un compagnon qui pourrait lui ressembler et jette son dévolu sur Tomas, un employé de morgue. Ce dernier expérimente une étonnante machine capable de lire dans le cerveau des morts les dernières images qu'ils ont vues. Lorsqu'il expérimente son invention sur l'inspecteur de police chargé de l'enquête que Barbara vient juste d'assassiner, l'examen cérébral échoue, mais l'homme ressuscite. Tomas comprend alors que sa machine est capable de faire revenir des morts à la vie, il extrait de la morgue toutes les victimes de la tueuse toujours sans trouver d'indices. Mais bientôt ceux-ci sortent du bâtiment et se conduisent comme des zombies en attaquant une boite de nuit locale.

Juan Oliver wants to make a good impression at his new job as a prison officer and reports to work a day early, leaving his pregnant wife, Elena, at home. The film opens with a dream sequence in which stock market tycoon Paul Marsh discovers a mermaid with razor sharp teeth while scuba diving into a carven pit.
