Donald et les Pygmées cannibales (Spare the Rod) est un court-métrage d'animation américain des studios Disney avec Donald Duck, sorti en 1954.

Synopsis

Donald est en train de repeindre sa maison, tandis que dans leur cabane ses neveux jouent aux sauvages africains au lieu de couper le bois. Notre canard décide alors de leur faire peur avec une fausse tête de sauvage. Un peu plus tard les neveux jouent aux pirates. Alors qu'il s'apprête à leur voler dans les plumes, Donald voit apparaître la voix du psychologue des enfants et dans la suite des cannibales s'échappe du train de cirque et cherche à dévorer Donald.

While camping in the mountains, Donald Duck sits down to eat a picnic. Soon a line of ants emerges from a nearby bush and marches past Donald, each carrying a grain harvested in the wild. Donald takes interest in the straggler, a small ant who seems to be carrying a bean several times his body weight. Donald begins to test the ant to see how much he can take. The ant, seemingly unaware of Donald, continues to march. Finally Donald balances several food items from his picnic on the ant, which the ant carries. But when Donald makes the ant walk a tight rope, Donald plucks the string causing the ant to fall into a large custard pie.

Donald Duck is on his way to Brownstone National Park to have "fun, fun, fun". Meanwhile, the park ranger gathers all the bears and assigns each of them to associate with a park visitor; any bear who commits a crime in the park will suffer "the supreme penalty" (i.e., being executed and made into a bearskin rug). When all the bears pick their visitor, Humphrey is stuck with Donald. At first, he makes an attempt to earn some of Donald's food by dancing but to no avail. He does earn Donald's attention when helping him set up his picnic and assorting his sandwiches for him, but goes unrewarded when it seems so. Humphrey finally tries to snitch some of Donald's food, mistakingly swallowing a hot red pepper, and cools down by drinking from a nearby waterfall. Donald then leaves the park, so Humphrey follows Donald out onto the road, draws a tire mark on himself, and makes Donald believe he ran him over. Donald gives Humphrey his food, but soon realizes he has been tricked. Donald then calls for the ranger, and he and Humphrey fight with each other and drop all the food on the road, and the ranger assigns them to clean it up. In the process, the ranger tries to steal the ham, but gets caught out by Donald and Humphrey, who shake their fingers at him to remind him that stealing is prohibited.
