Add to a movie listWorld Masterpiece Fairytale Swan Lake (世界名作童話 白鳥の湖, Sekai Meisaku Dōwa Hakuchō no Mizūmi) is an anime film based on the ballet Swan Lake by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The film was released in Japan on 14 March 1981 by Toei.
The film was produced by the Japanese company Toei Animation and directed by Kimio Yabuki. The adaptation uses Tchaikovsky's score and remains relatively faithful to the story. Two separate English dubs were made, one featuring regular voice actors, and one using celebrities as the main principles (Christopher Atkins as Siegfried, Pam Dawber as Odette, Kay Lenz as Odile, and David Hemmings as Rothbart). The second dub aired on American Movie Classics in February 1991 and The Disney Channel in June 1994. It is distributed in United States by The Samuel Goldwyn Company. Also in France and the United Kingdom by Rouge Citron Production.
Synopsis
The hero, Prince Siegfried, is out riding one day with his friends when he sees a swan with a crown on its head swimming on a lake. One of his friends, Adolf, tries to shoot the swan, but just before his arrow flies, Adolf is turned to stone. Siegfried's other friend accuses the swan of practicing witchcraft, neither of them pondering the presence of a owl just behind them. Siegfried is unable to stop thinking about the swan, and decides to follow it as it swims away from its spot on the lake. Siegfried soon finds himself at a castle.Actors

When Rainbow Brite (Bettina Bush) and her magical horse, Starlite (Andre Stojka), go to Earth to start spring, they meet Stormy (Marissa Mendenhall), another magical girl who controls winter with her horse, Skydancer (Peter Cullen). Goshu est un violoncelliste d'orchestre maladroit et timide, toujours réprimandé par son professeur. Il va être aidé dans la préparation de son concert par la visite d'une succession d'animaux : un chat, un coucou, un tanuki et un mulot, chacun lui apportant des vertus telles que la patience, le goût de la communication et la rigueur. Le chat, provocateur, insolent et chapardeur, révèle à Goshu sa faculté d'exprimer sa colère. L'oiseau chantant son fameux « coucou » sur deux notes est un modèle pour Goshu qui tentera de multiples variations sur cet air ; le tanuki approfondit l'enseignement du rythme avec son tambour. Enfin, la souris suppliera Goshu de jouer pour la guérison de son souriceau malade, ce qui sera l'occasion pour Goshu de faire montre de sa compassion et de sa générosité. Ces animaux, dans leur comportement authentique, auront tous contribué, par l'échange, à l'apprentissage intime du jeune héros.
