Sybil is a 2007 American docudrama directed by Joseph Sargent. The teleplay by John Pielmeier is based on the 1973 book of the same name by Flora Rheta Schreiber, which fictionalized the story of Shirley Ardell Mason, who was diagnosed with multiple personality disorder (more commonly then as "split personality", now called dissociative identity disorder). This is the second adaptation of the book, following an Emmy Award-winning 1976 miniseries that was broadcast by NBC. The university scenes were filmed at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.
In January 2006, The Hollywood Reporter announced CBS had greenlit the project, but it was shelved after completion. The film was released in Italy, New Zealand, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Norway, and Hungary before finally being broadcast in the US by the network on June 7, 2008.
Synopsis
Le film est basé sur le livre Sybil de Flora Rheta Schreiber paru en 1973. Sybil Dorsett est une jeune femme diplômée qui souffre d'étranges absences et demande de l'aide à une psychiatre : le Dr Cornelia Wilbur. On suit la longue psychothérapie de Sybil, au cours de laquelle la thérapeute va mettre en évidence un trouble de la personnalité multiple, en l'occurrence, chez Sybil, ce sont dix-sept personnalités différentes qui prennent le contrôle d'elle-même. Certaines sont psychotiques et veulent la tuer. Ces troubles sont liés à des abus sexuels durant l'enfance. La thérapie va mener à la réintégration progressive de ces personnalités en une seule.Actors

The film tells the story of the Tuskegee experiment, a U.S. Federal Government secret medical experiment on poor African Americans in the years 1932-1972, designed to study the effects of untreated syphilis. The story is told from the perspective of the small town nurse Eunice Evers (Alfre Woodard) who is well aware of the lack of treatment, but feels her role is to console the involved men, many of whom are her close friends.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Frances Elena Farmer is a rebel from a young age, winning $100 in 1931 from The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for a high school essay called God Dies. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Wurtzel is a 19-year-old girl accepted into Harvard with a scholarship in journalism. Steven and Diane Freeling (Craig T. 14 Hours is based on the harrowing events of June 2001, when Tropical Storm Allison stalled over the Houston metropolitan area, pouring nearly 30 inches of rain on the city within a 14-hour period. The story begins as the storm seems to be moving away from Houston. Jeanette Makins (JoBeth Williams), a nurse at Memorial Hermann Hospital, arrives ready for what she expects to be a normal day. But Tropical Storm Allison's rains return, quickly turning a normal day into a nightmare. As floodwaters inundate the lower levels of the hospital, a brilliant young surgeon, Dr. Foster (Rick Schroder), makes the decision to move the patients to safer ground, including a young couple whose premature baby is struggling for life, as well as, a girl and her mother, severely hurt in a car accident. With the resourceful thinking of Chuck Whortle (Kris Kristofferson), chief of Harris County Emergency Management, the hospital staff and volunteers race against the clock to get all patients to safety.
