Synopsis
Karen et Tim forment un couple heureux jusqu'à la disparition de leur fille de trois ans, Haley. Après avoir recherché cette dernière pendant deux ans sans obtenir le moindre résultat positif, le couple décide de se séparer. Mais dix ans après leur rupture, Karen poursuit désespérément la quête de sa fille tout en travaillant comme photographe dans des écoles. Un jour, son travail la mène dans un lycée de Colwood. Sur place, elle rencontre Emma, une élève qui ressemble étrangement à Haley. Karen lance immédiatement une enquête sur la famille de cette mystérieuse adolescente...Actors

Joanna et Ben Maxwell veulent adopter un enfant. Mais le service d'adoption les informe que leur dossier de demande a été refusé. A magnitude 10.5 earthquake destroys Los Angeles, California and triggers a massive tsunami which causes massive damage to Honolulu, Hawaii. It turns out to be only the first of a series of seismic events, including the awakening of extinct volcanoes, sudden instability of aquifers, and awakening of ancient faults. The Hoover Dam in Boulder City, Nevada collapses when Lake Mead starts to heat up and expand beyond the spillway's capacity. Las Vegas, Nevada is then destroyed when acidic water undermines underground limestone, creating a massive sinkhole. The worst of the seismic events is a massive fault which has opened up under South Dakota, destroying Mount Rushmore in the process.

The film follows the personal relationship between a father, Arkady Shapira (Schell), his terminally ill wife Irina (Redgrave), and his two sons, Joshua and Reuben (Roth and Furlong).
