Ryan and based on real life events. The film tells the story of the Williams family who, after adopting an 11-year-old homeless boy named Carl, have to deal with his reactive attachment disorder (RAD). It is based on the novel The Boarder by Jane E. Ryan, who interviewed families in the US, Canada and UK about their experiences with adoptive children suffering from RAD. The title is inspired by an anonymous British mother Jane interviewed regarding her experience with children suffering from RAD: "They're like boarders in a boardinghouse. They sleep in your home and eat at your table, but you never really know who they are."
Dee Wallace plays the psychologist who assists the family in coping with Carl and his disorder. Carl is portrayed by Andy Scott Harris. Other actors appearing in the film are Leslie Stevens, Carlton Wilburn and Eric St. John.
The film is set in a suburb outside of Lincoln, Nebraska and is shot for the most part in Ravenna, Nebraska. A percentage of the proceeds from the movie will be used to support the Institute for Family Health in Central Nebraska funded by Jane E.

Recently divorced Meg Altman (Foster) and her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Stewart) have just purchased a four-story brownstone on the Upper West Side of New York City. The house's previous owner, a reclusive millionaire, installed an isolated room used to protect the house's occupants from intruders. The "panic room" is protected by concrete and steel on all sides, a thick steel door, and an extensive security system with multiple surveillance cameras, a public announcement system, and a separate phone line. On the night the two move into the home, it is broken into by Junior (Leto), the previous owner's grandson; Burnham (Whitaker), an employee of the residence's security company; and Raoul (Yoakam), a ski mask-wearing gunman recruited by Junior. The three are after $3 million in bearer bonds, which are locked inside a floor safe in the panic room.

The film portrays the lives of shy conjoined twins Blake and Francis Falls, who take residence in a rundown hotel to hopefully reunite with their estranged birth mother. They find their gateway to the outside world through an eccentric young prostitute named Penny. They agree to attend a Halloween party with Penny and pretend to be wearing a "Siamese Twins" costume. The rest of the movie involves the brothers dealing with Francis's health problems, the changing relationship between the brothers, and Blake's budding relationship with Penny. Ultimately Francis's health deteriorates too far and the twins have to be separated. Francis is too sick to survive and dies, but Blake survives and must begin a life apart from his twin. Penny visits him and the two start a relationship.

Quand bien même sa sœur Noutka a renié ses convictions humanistes en épousant les idées ultra-libérales de son mari Stéphane, consultant en marketing sans état d'âme. Quoique Diane, sa mère, ait tout laissé tomber y compris sa famille pour aller vivre au milieu de nulle part en Ardèche. Dur, dur pour Angèle. Il n'est pas jusqu'à l'apparition dans sa vie de Saïd, un directeur d'école primaire sympathiquement fantasque et tendrement poète, qui n'aille sans lui compliquer les choses, elle qui ne se sent pas prête pour la romance. Jusqu'au jour où, au cours d'un repas qu'elle partage avec Saïd et son père, une nouvelle inattendue vient bouleverser ce qu'il reste de certitudes à Angèle.

Raja (Karthik) feels stifled under his strict father Col. Chandrasekhar (Jaiganesh) and when his father picks a girl he doesn't like for him to marry, it is the last straw and he runs away to Ooty. At the beginning of the film, Kabir (Abhay Deol) proposes to Natasha (Kalki Koechlin).
