Le Corps de mon ennemi (also known as Body of My Enemy ) is a 1976 French crime film directed by Henri Verneuil.
Synopsis
After François Leclercq seduces the young and rich Gilberte Beaumont-Liégard, she introduces him to her family. Through the budding relationship with her in-laws, Leclercq is able to assimilate into the local upper class of his hometown, Cornai. A friend of Gilberte's father, Raphaël Di Massa hires him as manager of his new nightclub, "Number One". The oblivious parvenu Leclercq eventually discovers that "Number One" is actually a cover-up for Raphaël Di Massa's illegal drug trade. Following a dispute between Di Massa and Leclercq, the gun of the latter is stolen and used in the murder of a local football star. An orchestrated miscarriage of justice puts Leclercq in prison, despite his innocence. Seven years later, he returns to Cornai and discovers that it wasn't Di Massa, but Gilberte's father Jean-Baptiste Beaumont-Liégard who ran the drug operation during Leclercq's employment. In an act of retaliation, Leclercq turns Beaumont-Liégard's accomplices against him. As Jean-Baptiste Beaumont-Liégard is executed, Leclercq leaves the city satisfied with his revenge.Actors

The French gangster Abel Davos is on the run from the police. He has been tried in absentia and sentenced to death. He flees to Italy together with his wife Thérèse and their two children. He performs a successful holdup in Milano with his accomplice Raymond, but chased by the police the two decide to return to France. Entering France on a seemingly deserted beach, the small group is surprised by two customs officers and end up in a gunfight, where Thérèse and Raymond are killed. Left alone with the children, Abel calls his friends Riton and Fargier in Paris to come and pick him up in Nice. Unable to travel to Nice, they send a man named Éric Stark, who works as an ambulance driver. Éric lets Abel hide in his attic and the two men become friends.

Roch Siffredi, chef de gang très en vue à Marseille, vient d'ouvrir un établissement somptueux qui lui promettrait des jours heureux dans cette ville, s'il ne venait d'enterrer son ami et associé François Capella à la fin du premier Borsalino. Il jure de le venger. Il apprend qu'un certain Giovanni Volpone, récemment arrivé à Marseille, est à l'origine du meurtre. Le commissaire Fanti passe voir Siffredi après la mort de Capella. Il constate la réussite du truand et admire le nouvel établissement : il a une certaine estime pour Roch, mais quand des évènements agitent le milieu, sa politique est de laisser les truands s'entretuer ! Il informe cependant Siffredi que Volpone est un homme dangereux : le gangster italien, semble avoir des ambitions sur la ville de Marseille; il a des moyens importants tant en hommes qu'en finance et des soutiens politiques efficaces dans la période qui précède la guerre. Volpone est en relation avec le fascisme international. Il a le projet de « nettoyer » la ville et d'en faire une base expérimentale pour préparer une ère nouvelle.
