Synopsis
In an unidentified, vaguely totalitarian future, Detective Stephen Grant (Bokeem Woodbine) investigates a series of strange murders; his partner is killed by a pale man in black who can survive bullet wounds, tosses Grant through a window, and climb up walls like a reptile. After Grant reports the incident, his superiors introduce him to another officer, Aaron Gray (Adrian Paul). Grant learns that vampires exist—Gray is one of them—and plan to gradually integrate themselves with the rest of humanity. One of these vampires is responsible for the murders and the other vampires want to help catch the perpetrator. Aiding the officers is a female vampire named Lucy Westenra (played by Bai Ling).Actors

The film is narrated by Cayden, an average teenaged boy approaching the end of high school. During a football game, a rival player headbutts Cayden, causing the latter to become enraged and attack the player with superhuman strength. Cayden later hurts his girlfriend when the passion of making out causes him to unwillingly transform into a werewolf. Cayden wakes up covered in blood, surrounded by the dismembered bodies of his parents and flees.

De nos jours, Hank Holten, un inspecteur de police mal noté par ses supérieurs depuis qu'il est divorcé est chargé d’enquêter sur la disparition mystérieuse d'une jeune femme. La police ne pssoède aucune piste et Hank commence son enquête dans les bars et les boites de nuit muni de la photo de la jeune disparue. Croyant la reconnaître dans une boite de nuit, il tente de l'aborder malgré l'opposition d'un homme qui se présente comme son frère. Cependant la jeune femme Leyla n'étant pas insensible aux charmes du policier l’entraîne dans une camionnette et lui pratique une fellation en présence du "frère", lui-même occupée avec une autre jeune femme. Leyla conduit alors Hank a une rave party dans un acier hôpital désaffecté. Hank se retrouve alors au milieu d'une véritable orgie et sa volonté semble annihilée. Leyla souhaite faire l'amour avec lui sans aucun préliminaire. Après quelques minutes, une partie des participants révélé leur véritable nature, ce sont des vampires, et ces derniers se mettent à mordre le cou des personnes qui se sont laissées entraîner. Quand Leyla veut à son tour mordre Hank, celui-ci a un sursaut et tente de s'échapper, mais il est rattrapé par le chef hiérarchique de la secte qui le mord au cou.

A centuries long war between humans and vampires has devastated the planet's surface and led to a theocracy under an organization called The Church. They constructed giant walled cities to protect mankind and developed a group of elite warriors, the Priests, to turn the tide against the vampires. The majority of the vampires were killed, while the remainder were placed in reservations. With the war over, the Clergy disbanded the Priests. Outside the walled cities, some humans seek out a living, free from the totalitarian control of the Church.

In 2009, a plague caused by an infected vampire bat has transformed most of the world's population into vampires and due to this event, control of the world no longer belongs to humans. The Monster Squad is a society of young pre-teens who idolize classic monsters and monster movies and hold their meetings in a tree clubhouse. Club leader Sean (Andre Gower), whose five-year-old sister Phoebe (Ashley Bank) desperately wants to join the club, is given the diary of legendary monster hunter Dr. Abraham Van Helsing (Jack Gwillim), but his excitement abates when he finds it is written in German. Sean, his best friend Patrick (Robby Kiger), and the rest of the Monster Squad visit an elderly man, known as the "Scary German Guy" (Leonardo Cimino), actually a kind gentleman, to translate the diary. When the Monster Squad wonders how the German man is so knowledgeable about Van Helsing's battle with monsters, he wryly comments that "he has some experience with monsters" and his shirt sleeve briefly reveals a Concentration camp number tattoo.

Darren Shan and his best friend Steve Leonard visit a traveling freak show. Steve believes a performer, Larten Crepsley, is a vampire. Steve talks to Crepsley after the show and asks to become a vampire. Crepsley initially refuses but is talked into testing Steve's blood, that he spits out telling Steve he has bad blood. Steve furiously swears revenge and leaves. Darren overhears everything because he has been hiding in a cupboard after stealing Crepsley's spider, Madam Octa.
