Synopsis
Henriette Delille, a free woman of color, was born in 1813 into one of New Orleans' most prominent families. Her family assumed she would follow her mother and sister's path and become a mistress for a wealthy white man. However, Henriette had different plans for her life.Actors

Une jeune étudiante, Catherine (Sarah Polley) se retrouve embrigadée dans un groupuscule néo-nazi par amitié pour son amie Erina (Tanya Allen), le NIM (National Identity Movement, mouvement pour l'identité nationale). Le racisme et la violence gratuite pratiquée par ces fanatiques déstabilisent cependant Catherine et Erina. Jusqu'au jour où cette dernière, écœurée par la violence aveugle du groupe, décide de quitter le NIM. La jeune femme, moralement fragile depuis la mort de son père, finit par se suicider, ce qui a pour conséquence d'ouvrir les yeux de Catherine. Elle quitte elle aussi le groupe, renie le racisme et reprend sa vie en main. En abandonnant le NIM et son idéologie, la jeune femme reprend peu à peu goût à la vie.

The film spans several decades in the unconventional life of feisty nonagenarian Hagar Shipley, who sets off on a journey to reconcile herself with her past when she discovers her son Marvin and daughter-in-law Doris are moving her into a nursing home. In Norco, California, four men plot a bank robbery using heavy weapons to intimidate the public and the police force. In the year 2009, a meteor shower above Earth claims the life of American astronaut Jeff Hale (Brad Johnson). He awakens inside a jade-green bubble beneath the surface of a body of water filled with them. A mysterious cloaked figure pierces his bubble with a staff pressing it against his forehead, forcefully filling his mind with images to come. Dazed and in pain, he soon finds himself crawling nude onto a beach littered with metal canisters containing unisex clothing. Soon dozens of people from different lands and historical eras emerge from the water, also nude, and distribute the canisters. All understand each other's language, except a lone Neanderthal man, who lacks the capacity for speech.

Martin McGartland (Jim Sturgess) is a 21-year-old street hustler from Northern Ireland, living in the late 1980s. The Irish Republican Army wants to recruit him, but he is reluctant because of what he sees as their cruel street justice. Because of his connection to the community, the British police want him to infiltrate and spy on the IRA. Marty agrees because of the car and money he gets from the police and because he despises the IRA. The IRA accepts him as a Volunteer and in that position he learns of various planned attacks. He then informs Fergus, his police contact, to prevent these attacks. He builds up a new sense of self-esteem, but he cannot tell his family and friends about his activities. Even his new girlfriend Lara (Natalie Press) only notices that he seems to do some work for the IRA, which worries her.

Hannah, the first child born of the original Gatlin corn cult, visits the town of Gatlin to find her real mother. On the way, she picks up a street preacher by the name of Zachariah whose car broke down. He tells her about her name, and then vanishes. After crashing into a corn field a lady sheriff suddenly appears and takes Hannah to a hospital in town .
