The Drummer is a 2007 Hong Kong-Taiwanese drama film written and directed by Kenneth Bi and starring Jaycee Chan, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Angelica Lee. It is Kenneth Bi's second film as a director.

The film was released in Hong Kong on October 11, 2007. It features the Chinese Zen drumming group, U-Theatre. The movie is available in the United States on DVD from filmmovement.com.

Lee Man Ho (Chow Yun-fat) is the son of Uncle Kwan (Tien Feng), the leader of the Hung Hing Gang. Ho was sent to the United States during his childhood to live a stable life there and has now established a family there. One time during a gang fight, Kwan was ambushed and killed and Ho returns to Hong Kong for his father's funeral and there, he was also elected to be his father's successor as the leader of the Hung Hing Gang. Ho knew little to the culture of the underworld, and Yeung Kong (Roy Cheung), often criticized Ho about this. Also, Kong did not get along with Tse Shing (Michael Chan), and they got into a fight during the banquet. Because of Ho, they chose to maintain the harmony of the gang. And then, all members of Hung Hing Gang were glad and loyal to Ho, because Ho was always kind to them.

A Hong Kong assassin, Ah Jong, is on his last job for the Triad (a criminal organization), but accidentally damages the eyes of a young nightclub singer named Jennie with a muzzle flash in a shootout. The Triad leader Hay Wong Hoi double crosses Ah Jong, and instead of paying him, sends a group of hitmen to kill him. During Ah Jong's escape from the Triad, a young child is injured by a stray bullet. After dispatching the attackers, Ah Jong rushes the child to the hospital while being followed by Li and his partner Sgt. Tsang. Once the child regains consciousness at the casualty ward, Ah Jong escapes Li and Tsang.

Crazy Lik and his friend Pong are two undercover cops who are sent to infiltrate triad leader Coffin Sing. Later as Sing is killed, the gang is split into two. Lik follows Hung Tai's side and Pong goes to the other. Lik becomes down as he is separated from his best friend and feeling responsible for Sing's death. This leads to a time where Lik gets drunk at his girlfriend Moon's mother's birthday party and making a fool of himself and Moon feels disgusted and leaves him. One time in a bar, Lik meets triad member Milky Fai, who helps Lik out to get good with Hung Tai and his sister Po. Milky Fai is actually a former undercover cop who has his own problems. Later on, Lik must decide whether or not to betray his triad brothers that he have grown very close to complete the case for his superior whom he really hates and is hitting on his girlfriend.
