Add to a movie listThe Fastest Guitar Alive is a 1967 MGM motion picture starring singer Roy Orbison in his only starring role as an actor. A musical western, the story is set near the end of the American Civil War with Orbison portraying a Southern spy with a bullet-shooting guitar given the task of robbing gold bullion from the United States Mint in San Francisco in order to help finance the Confederacy's war effort.
The film features Orbison performing seven original songs which appeared on his 1967 MGM record album of the same name.
Synopsis
Alors que les Confédérés sont sur le point de perdre la guerre de Sécession, les espions sudistes Johnny Banner et Steve Menlo, respectivement déguisés en chanteur-guitariste et en vendeur d'élixirs, sont envoyés à San Francisco pour voler une cargaison d'or afin de renflouer les caisses de la Confédération.Actors

Mike Windgren works on a boat in Acapulco, Mexico. When Janie Harkins, the bratty daughter of the boat owner, gets him fired, Mike must find new work. U.S. Army Specialist 5 (SP5) Tulsa McLean (Elvis Presley) is a tank crewman with a singing career. Claire Phillips, an American-born Filipina living in Manila and working as a cafe entertainer on the eve of the attack on Pearl Harbor. She meets and marries an American soldier, and with her husband, witnesses the Japanese invasion. Her husband is captured, and then killed in the Bataan Death March. Phillips joins the anti-Japanese resistance, and in order to obtain intelligence to send back to the United States, she opens a nightclub catering to Japanese officers. She successfully passes useful intelligence on to the American forces and the Filipino underground, but is then discovered, imprisoned, and tortured by the Japanese. Sentenced to death, she is rescued in the nick of time, and later awarded the Medal of Freedom.
