Synopsis

Une petite ville située à la frontière entre le Mexique et les États-Unis est ravagée par le trafic d'armes, les cartels et les règlements de comptes sanglants. Le département de la Justice américaine engage un nouveau shériff chargé de reprendre le contrôle et de se débarrasser de tous ces bandits. En faisant face à cette vague de violence, il doit également confronter un tueur à gages à la recherche d'un butin.

In New York City in 1975, after serving only five years of a 30-year prison sentence, Carlito Brigante is freed on a legal technicality exploited by his lawyer, Dave Kleinfeld, infuriating the district attorney. Victor Rosa (Leguizamo) is a drug dealer in New York who sells a specific brand of heroin called "Empire". In New York City's Central Park, people begin committing mass suicide. They receive word that Philadelphia has been attacked by the toxin and Julian's wife was not able to get on the train to Harrisburg. Julian decides to go look for her, leaving his daughter with the Moores while he hitches a ride. However, the town has already been hit by the toxin. Succumbing to it, the driver and Julian both commit suicide.

Armed with remote-controlled heavy machine guns and video cameras, Dead Reckoning functions as a moving fireworks launch base, on the premise that zombies are fascinated by fireworks and will stare at them, ignoring their environment. Riley Denbo (Simon Baker), designer and commander of Dead Reckoning, has recently retired. Unlike Kaufman, Riley is respected for his work in protecting the city from danger, as well as for bringing critical food and medical supplies which the citizens can no longer acquire safely themselves.
