Synopsis
Après avoir conduit son patron et sa famille à l'aéroport d'Orly, Dany, sa secrétaire, doit ramener la voiture à Paris. Au moment de rentrer à Paris, elle emprunte par erreur une mauvaise bretelle d'autoroute et s'embranche malencontreusement sur l'autoroute du sud. Elle décide alors et néanmoins, ce qui fait l'élément initiateur du film, de continuer. Elle ignore alors que ce voyage ne lui sera guère agréable et que la rencontre de certaines personnes va la rendre folle...Actors

In World War I, French fighter pilot Lt. Claude Maury (Paul Muni) gains a bad reputation in his squadron, flying off on "lone wolf" missions. More importantly, Maury continually returns to base with his air observers/gunners killed or wounded. Others believe he is either "jinxed" or dangerous, and only Lt. Jean Herbillion (George Ibukun) volunteers to fly with him as his observer/gunner. Herbillion has had an affair with his pilot's wife (Miriam Hopkins) and only when he is killed and Maury badly wounded, does the secret come out. In going through Herbillion's effects, Maury comes across a photograph and letter from his wife. She confesses to the affair and begs forgiveness. In the end, he relents as she nurses him back to health.

The narrator describes the fall of France, leaving Britain almost defenceless. British forces are vastly outnumbered, but the British people are calm. The narrator explains that this is because in a democracy the people as a whole are involved in the decision to fight. Hitler's masterplan to subjugate Britain is described. Hitler begins by attacking convoys and ports, but fails to destroy them. The RAF are outnumbered "6 - 8 - 10 to one", but knock out far more planes than the Germans do. Bailed out British pilots are also able to return to the air, but German pilots are lost. Unlike the Dutch and Polish airforce Britain does not "make the mistake of bunching its planes on the runways".

The film documents the events that saw a French Captain, Alfred Dreyfus, sent to Devil's Island for espionage near the end of the nineteenth century. Colonel Georges Picquart (Richard Dreyfuss) is given the job of justifying Dreyfus' sentence. Après trois mois de mission au large de l'Afrique, le porte-avions Clemenceau rentre vers l'arsenal de Brest. Soudain, il reçoit l'ordre de faire demi-tour et de prendre les dispositions d'alerte. Pendant ce temps, à bord, l'alerte maximale est déclenchée avec avionnage des armements nucléaires. La tension et l'énervement montent jusqu'à ce que Ravesne, le commandant du bâtiment, apprenne enfin par son ami Bricourt de quoi il est question : un satellite de nationalité et de technologie inconnues est brutalement apparu dans le ciel et affole les états-majors de toutes les grandes nations.

Captain Haddock (Georges Wilson) learns that an old shipmate, Paparanic, has died and left him a ship, the Golden Fleece. A businessman named Anton Karabine (Demetrios Yra) claims to be an old friend of Paparanic and offers to buy the boat for "sentimental" reasons, but the huge amounts that he offers makes Tintin suspicious and on his advice Haddock turns the offer down.
