It was released in Russia on 13 June 2013 as Завещание and was later released direct to DVD on 30 July 2013 through Image Entertainment.
Synopsis
Leon, a young man, returns home after he learns of his estranged mother's death. As Leon explores the house and takes inventory, his mother, Rosalind Leigh, delivers a narration about her life in the form of a monologue to her son. It describes the crushing loneliness that she feels after he rejects both her and her faith due to negative religious experiences in his childhood. Concerned that Leon will never return to her life or regain his faith, she relies on an imagined life that eventually supplants her deeply held faith. With her faith shattered, she eventually succumbs to her loneliness and kills herself. At the same time that Rosalind delivers this narration, Leon deals with his feelings of guilt and grief, and he discovers that his mother was the anonymous benefactor that bought all of his artwork. When Leon faces his own demons in the house, he turns to his skepticism, meditation, and Anna, an unidentified person that he contacts through his cell phone. Anna, who identifies herself as a doctor, talks Leon through two stressful situations which Leon interprets as severe hallucinations. Ultimately, Leon is able to work through his issues, and he tells his broker that he wants to put all of the art back on the market. As he leaves the house, Leon seems to hear his mother call out to him, and she watches sadly from the window as he leaves.Actors

The film opens with a brief pan over several papers, one of which shows a symbol resembling the Caduceus but with bat wings and the one word question "Keres"? The film then shows a news clipping with a headline that states that a child has disappeared and is believed to be one of an estimated 100 victims. A by-line shown in the same clipping mentions that paganism is currently flourishing in northern Ontario. Along with the clipping is a note that comments that enclosed with the clipping is a photograph and that the reader should look closely at it. The photo initially shows four adults, three men and one woman, standing in a forest with a house looming at their back and a car on their left. The woman is holding an infant and initially nothing seems odd about the photo.

The peaceful and happy life of Walker and Col Kennedy is interrupted when Kim, a brilliant and attractive male architect, builds a dream house next to theirs. All the people who move into the house turn evil or end up having "accidents" and unexplainable deaths. They realize that the house targets their fears and feeds off of them until it drives them insane. In the end, the Kennedys succeed in destroying the house, killing the architect in the process. In the final scene another couple is seen eyeing a new house identical to the old one. This is the greatest departure from the novel, in which the Kennedys kill the architect before trying to destroy the house – in the epilogue it is revealed that they themselves lost their lives and the house is still intact.

An unidentified stalker records video of married couple James and Amy Deakin as they hide their spare key outside their home. When the couple leaves to go jogging, he uses the key to enter their home and set up hidden security cameras in each room. He also makes subtle changes, such as setting their alarm to go off earlier and leaving a mix CD in their car. Amy protests when the alarm wakes her up early, and the two argue over who recorded the mix CD. When James finds the audio tracks on his computer, Amy considers the mystery solved, but James insists that he never downloaded them. As they argue, James dismisses Amy's PhD research on Afghan culture as a waste of time, and she refuses to speak to him. The next morning, as James leaves for work, he writes her a brief apology. The stalker enters the house, reads the note, and records video of Amy's reaction to noise that she hears in the house.

A man named Alderson awakens in a cube-shaped room with a hatch in each wall, the ceiling and the floor, each of which leads to other cube-shaped rooms, identical except for their color. He enters an orange room and, without warning, is killed by a trap. In another such room, five people – Quentin, Worth, Holloway, Rennes, and Leaven – meet. None of them knows where they are or how they got there. Quentin informs the others that some rooms contain traps, which he learned by nearly being killed by one. Rennes assumes each trap is triggered by a motion detector and tests each room by throwing one of his boots in first. Leaven notices numbers inscribed in the passageways between rooms. Quentin, a policeman, recognizes Rennes as "the Wren", an escape artist renowned for getting out of jails. After declaring one room trap-free, Rennes enters and is killed when he is sprayed with acid. The others realize that there are different kinds of detectors, and Quentin deduces that this trap was triggered by heat.

In the 1940s, young twins Jane and Blanche Hudson are famous child stars and play mostly the same roles, despite the fact that they have completely dissimilar personalities. Jane is persistent about making a career and dominates her shy sister Blanche, who spends most of her time trying to please her other half. Nevertheless, after following some acting lessons, Blanche becomes a bigger star as soon as they grew up, and the public eventually forgets about Jane. Nowadays, the sisters are living together in a large mansion. According to tabloids, Jane grew jealous of Blanche's fame and tried to kill her, but the 'accident' only resulted in paralyzing her. Blanche relives her fame due to her films being showed on television, while Jane's films are unavailable. Jane lacks in caring about her sister's well-being, and spends most of her day trying to look as youthful as possible, even though neighbors see her as a clown because of her extensive use of make-up and childish clothing. She is reluctant to bond with her neighbors Connie and Frank, who are very open about their adoration for Blanche. Blanche realizes that her sister has mental problems, and worries when she finds out that she has started drinking alcohol again, as well as turning her fan mail into hate mail. Her massage therapist Dominick worries that Jane might have found out that she is selling the house and is therefore acting out.

In a contemporary day alternate version of Rome, riots are in progress after stores of grain are withheld from citizens and civil liberties are reduced due to a war between Rome and neighbouring Volsci. The rioters are particularly angry at Caius Martius (Ralph Fiennes), a brilliant Roman general whom they blame for the city's problems. During a march, the rioters encounter Martius, who is openly contemptuous and does not hide his low opinion of the regular citizens. The commander of the Volscian army, Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler), who has fought Martius on several occasions and considers him a mortal enemy, swears that the next time they meet in battle will be the last. Martius leads a raid against the Volscian city of Corioles and during the siege, with much of Martius's unit being killed, Martius gathers reinforcements and the Romans take the city. After the battle, Martius and Aufidius meet in single combat, which results in both men being wounded but ends when Aufidius' soldiers drag him away from the fight.
