Synopsis

Deux sœurs sirènes, Or et Argent, intègrent une famille de musiciens et s'impliquent dans le monde des humains. L'une d'entre elles, Argent, tombe amoureuse d'un bel homme. Mais si le garçon tombe amoureux d'une autre, elle devra le dévorer pour ne pas se transformer en écume.

Olga Hepnarová est une jeune tchèque habitant dans la région pragoise. Elle vit dans une famille sans chaleur humaine, elle se sent rejetée par tous. Après une tentative de suicide par absorption de médicaments, elle est internée dans un établissement psychiatrique. Elle se décide ensuite de quitter l'école et de vivre à l'écart du monde, dans une maison forestière. Olga travaille dans plusieurs sociétés sans parvenir à trouver un emploi stable. Lesbienne, elle est encore plus isolée de tous et ne reçoit aucune aide, même pas médicale. Elle occupe finalement un poste de chauffeur.

The movie begins in a theatre, where Dominik Santorski and his parents listen to Schubert's lied "Der Doppelgänger", which provides a key to the interpretation of the whole film. His parents have success-driven careers and are out of touch with their son's life. Dominik is popular at his private school, but is also spoiled by the perks given to him by his wealthy parents. While at school, his friends stumble upon a self-harm video while using his computer. Later, he watches the rest of the self-harm video and leaves a comment for the poster.

The film revolves around the relationship between two high school students, Yoo Shi-eun (Lee Young-jin) and Min Hyo-shin (Park Ye-jin).
