Gerusalemme liberata (AKA: The Mighty Crusaders) is a 1958 film about the First Crusade (AD 1096-1099), based on the 16th-century Italian poem, Jerusalem Delivered by Torquato Tasso.
This film was directed by Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia. The Italian version was written by Sandro Continenza and the English translation was written by Annalena Limentani and Frederica Nutter.
Synopsis
The film is based on the poem by Torquato Tasso, and is set in the time of the Crusades in Jerusalem. The commander Godfrey of Bouillon, Christian blessed by the pope, is attacking the Holy City for years, with no win. In fact, his work is to free the Holy Sepulchre of Christ from the hands of the Muslim infidels. The best soldier of Godfrey is Tancredi, who during a battle collides with a Muslim soldier. Even this soldier is very strong, but Tancredi turns out that he a girl, called Clorinda. The two fall in love, while war rages; but unfortunately their love does not last long, because the witch Armida, faithful Muslims, creates a spell that makes confobdere mind to Tancredi and Clorinda, who fight in war against each other.Actors

The film begins in 1943 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, with newly commissioned Lt. Michael Grayson (Johnson) reporting for duty with the 442nd, then in training. He discovers that he has been sent to a unit composed of Nisei; he had expected to return to the U.S. 36th Infantry Division, a Texas National Guard unit with which he had served as an enlisted man. During the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, a team of German saboteurs assume the identities of dead British soldiers and are transported to England. Their first objective is to cripple British air defences by destroying radar stations. Though the identities and whereabouts of the saboteurs are unknown, a team of British soldiers is set up to track them down and abort their mission. À Istanbul, le playboy de renommée internationale Tony Mecenas, propriétaire d'une boîte de nuit, est contacté par la séduisante Kenny, agente du FBI, pour qu'il l'aide à retrouver un savant en énergie atomique séquestré quelque part dans la ville. Le scientifique a été enlevé par une organisation qui réclamait une rançon d'un million de dollars et, lors de l'échange, il est apparu trop tard qu'un imposteur a été restitué à sa place. On propose donc à Tony, qui connaît Istanbul comme sa poche, de délivrer le savant et, en contrepartie, de s'approprier l'argent de la rançon s'il parvient à le substituer à l'organisation. Tony se lance dans l'aventure avec Kenny. À l'issue de mille et une péripéties, où Kenny aura également été enlevée, Tony finit par tout récupérer : la belle Américaine, le savant et les dollars. Mais, après avoir confié le scientifique aux bons soins du FBI, il garde pour lui sa chère Kenny et le joli magot.

Mexique, 1864. L'empereur français Napoléon III impose l'archiduc Maximilien d'Autriche contre la volonté du peuple.
