Synopsis
Section chief Kim (Kim Myung-min) was dispatched to South Korea 22 years ago to spy for the North Korean government. But spying is not his job anymore, or at least, it’s not what he does in daily life. Now, Kim makes a living by selling fake Viagra pills smuggled from China and returns home every night to his wife and two loving children.Actors

Joo Young-soo (Kim Myung-min) is a devoted Christian and well-respected pastor whose 5-year-old daughter, Hye-rin (Kim So-hyun), gets kidnapped. The story starts with Young-soo attempting to give the kidnapper the ransom money in exchange for his daughter in an ice hockey rink, but because of his wife, Min-kyung's (Park Joo-mi) interference by informing the police, the kidnapper doesn't show. Eight years later, Young-soo loses his faith in God and leaves the church while his wife is still desperately searching for their daughter. He opens up a business and mocks his wife for not losing hope. He soon receives a call from the kidnapper, saying his daughter is still alive and they're asking for more ransom money, demanding that there be no police this time. Now given another chance to save his daughter, he takes matters into his own hands.

At a bistro in the Montmartre district of Paris, IRA operative Deirdre (Natascha McElhone) meets with ex-special operatives-turned mercenaries Sam (Robert De Niro), Larry (Skipp Sudduth), and Vincent (Jean Reno), and takes them to a warehouse where fellow mercenaries Gregor (Stellan Skarsgård) and Spence (Sean Bean) are waiting. After Spence is exposed as a fraud by Sam and summarily dismissed, the others depart for Nice. Sam and Deirdre develop an attraction to each other during a stakeout. On the day of the sale, Deirdre's team ambush the convoy at La Turbie and pursue the survivors back to Nice. After a gun battle at the port, Gregor steals the case and disappears.

Private Kang is a member of the South Korean marine corps who is eager to shoot a North Korean spy during his time guarding the South Korean coastline near the Korean Demilitarized Zone. One evening he shoots and kills a South Korean civilian who has strayed into a forbidden zone to have sex with his girlfriend. Kang and the girlfriend of the dead civilian both have mental breakdowns. The woman believes the members of the coast guard are her dead lover, and engages in sexual affairs with them. Though commended after the shooting, Kang is dismissed from service. He then returns to kill other members of his unit. He then goes to the South Korean capital city of Seoul, where kills people at random with his bayonet before being confronted by armed policemen. Gunfire then erupts.

In pre-revolutionary Cuba, James Wormold (Alec Guinness), a vacuum cleaner salesman, is recruited by Hawthorne (Noël Coward) of the British Secret Intelligence Service to be their Havana operative. Instead of recruiting his own agents, Wormold invents agents from men he knows only by sight, and sketches "plans" for a rocket-launching pad based on vacuum parts to increase his value to the service and to procure more money for himself and his expensive daughter Milly (Jo Morrow). Because his importance grows, he is sent a secretary, Beatrice (Maureen O'Hara), and a radioman from London to be under his command. With their arrival it becomes much harder for Wormold to maintain his facade. However, all of his invented information begins to come true: his cables home are intercepted and believed to be true by enemy agents who then act against his "cell". One of his "agents" is killed, and he is himself targeted for assassination. He admits what he's done to his secretary, and is recalled to London. At the film's conclusion, rather than telling the truth to the prime minister and other military intelligence services, Wormold's commanders (led by Ralph Richardson) agree to fabricate a story claiming his imagined machines had been dismantled, bestow honors on Wormold, and offer him a position teaching espionage classes in London.
