Add to a movie listThese Girls is a 2005 film by John Hazlett, based upon the play of the same name by Vivienne Laxdal. With David Boreanaz (best known for his roles as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and FBI special agent Seeley Booth on Bones) and Caroline Dhavernas (best known for her role as Jaye on Wonderfalls) Holly Lewis, Amanda Walsh, Colin C. Berry and Donnell Makenzie. The movie revolves around three girls (Dhavernas, Lewis, and Walsh) who attempt to seduce an older man (Boreanaz) in their town. After Glory (Walsh) is found sleeping with Keith, the other two girls attempt to do the same, ultimately looking to share him amongst the three.
The movie was released on March 2, 2006, in Quebec, March 24, 2006, in English Canada, and released on DVD in North America May 16, 2006. It was featured in the Toronto International Film Festival.
The movie was produced in association with CHUM Television, and Canadian premium television movie channels The Movie Network, Movie Central & Super Écran. Cast member Amanda Walsh was a former VJ for CHUM-owned MuchMusic.
As a Canadian production, it also received financial support from state programs like Telefilm Canada.the film was mainly filmed in Shediac, NB, with some scenes in Moncton, NB
Synopsis
The film takes place over a summer by the seaside and follows three girls through a summer that will change their lives. The story is told by Keira St. George (Caroline Dhavernas), a girl who is trying to decide what to do with her life. She constantly throws away her college letter without reading it, but her father always retrieves it, annoying her more. Her two best friends are Glory Lorraine (Amanda Walsh) a beautiful but somewhat bitchy girl obsessed with marriage, and Lisa MacDougall (Holly Lewis), an awkward, born-again, religious girl who is obsessed with sex.Actors

Joanne, a fashion photographer, helps her friend, Lane Daniels (Hilary Duff), an aspiring writer, get in to see Kate White, primary editor at Cosmopolitan Magazine, to pitch a story idea - which doesn't go well. On the way out the door, Kate and Lane discuss how hard it is to find a good man, which leads to Kate assigning Lane the task of joining the business world to find a man amongst all those eligible 'downtown' bachelors, and writing an article about that. She is to go under-cover and look for her 'magic man' (one for which she has a lengthy checklist of desirable attributes, as opposed to her friend Joanne's checklist which consists of: 1> breathing, and 2> through 3> cute). With a fraudulent résumé, Lane bluffs, bumbles, and sabotages her way into getting an administrative assistant position in the Corporate Strategic Planning department of a major investment firm. She is to work for Tom Rinehart (Michael McMillian), Managing Director, who is a bit of a quirky 'stick in the mud' when it comes to personal 'risk-taking'.

Lucy is a journalist who is dumped by her "perfect" boyfriend and then goes on a series of dates with five different men—Doug, an entomologist; Gabriel, a playwright; Bobby, a baseball player; Barry, a computer store owner; and Luke, a doctor. The film begins with James' recitation of a Henry David Thoreau quote, after which he states that he saw the oncoming societal collapse and moved his free-spirited wife Lily and daughter Hannah off the grid. A montage shows his college friends just before the collapse: Benji, a radical activist, lectures at a college and has sex with Ariel, one of the students; Nick, James' former business partner, and his wife Becky are en route to James' house for a meeting; Laura, formerly a Senator's aide, is rejected from a job at a non-profit due to a past public scandal; and Lev, a computer hacker, prepares to commit suicide until he hears that a computer virus may be responsible for the collapse. All converge at James' remote Mendocino house, where Benji explains that violent riots have broken out across the nation.
