Synopsis
Several groups of Italians experience amusing adventures and tests of character on the Caribbean island of Antigua. The film starts where L'armata Brancaleone has ended. Brancaleone da Norcia (again played by Vittorio Gassman) is a poor but proud Middle Ages knight leading his bizarre and ragtag army of underdogs. However, he loses all his "warriors" in a battle and therefore meets Death's personification (a clear parody of Bergman's Seventh Seal). Having obtained more time to live, he forms a new tattered band. When Brancaleone saves an infant of royal blood, they set on to the Holy Sepulchre to bring him back to his father, Bohemund of Taranto (Adolfo Celi), who is fighting in the Crusades. As in the first film, in his quest he lives a series of grotesque episodes, each a hilarious parody of Middle Ages stereotypes. These include: the saving of a young witch (Stefania Sandrelli) from the stake, the annexion of a leper to the band, and a meeting with Gregory VII, in which Brancaleone has to solve the dispute between the pope and the antipope Clement III. On reaching Palestine, Brancaleone obtains the title of baron from the child's father. He is therefore chosen as a champion in a tournament to solve the dispute between the Christians and the Saracens in the siege of Jerusalem. The award for the winner is the former leper, who is in fact revealed to be a beautiful princess, Berta, who adopted the disguise to travel to the Holy Land in relative safety. After having nearly defeated all the Moor warriors, Brancaleone is however defeated by a spell cast on him by the witch, who, having fallen in love with him, could not stand seeing him married with the princess. He therefore starts to wander in despair through the desert, and again Death comes to claim her credit: Brancaleone, brooding and world weary as he is has no qualms about dying but asks to be allowed to die in "knightly" fashion, in a duel with the Grim Reaper itself. Death agrees and the confrontation begins...after a fierce exchange of blows Brancaleone is about to be cleft by Death's scythe but is ultimately saved by the witch, who gives her life for the man she loved.

Maddalena Ciarrapico arrives in New York City from Italy to get married and bringing with her a gift of mortadella (large Italian pork sausage) from her co-workers from the sausage factory where she used to work, for her fiancé. But she is refused permission to bring the mortadella into the country because of the ban on meat that may contain food-borne diseases. The story sees three pairs of funny characters who find themselves involved in hilarious situation in the Italy of the economic crisis. Ricky Memphis is a young man who has problems integrating into society and that goes very psychologist. One day the patient when he is in his office, you see get in front of a girl just dumped by her boyfriend exchanges Fabio (Memphis) for the psychologist. Between the two will be born love, but she also discovers the true identity of Fabio. Vincenzo Salemme is Antonio, a contractor of Napoli that he and his cruel wife have accumulated wealth by cheating and falsifying accounts payable. One day he to save themselves from the finance receivables and takes a trip to Germany where he meets a charming judge with whom he has an affair. In fact, the woman needed excitement as her husband neglected her, but at the end of their story decides to reconsider. Alessandro Gassman argues with his wife and went with her to court to sign the cause of the divorce, however, a curious case of fate has never met with the lawyer's wife. Then has a particular encounter with a mysterious woman from which the flame that lights the love and soon Antonio, she and the ex-wife's lover discovered that he was no other than the lawyer's wife. Enrico Brignano breaks up with his girlfriend and meets an old flame who makes him feel again the pleasures of a fiery time. The two spend several moments with friends and love is strengthened more and more, when at last the ex-girlfriend of Mark (Brignano) decided to go back with him, but it's too late. All of these stories in the film are intertwined and how they have the background and loving encounter unusual Paolo Ruffini with a girl tastes "very open".
