White Mane (French: Crin-Blanc and Crin Blanc, Cheval Sauvage) is a 1953 short film directed by French filmmaker Albert Lamorisse.
The forty-seven minute short, filmed on location in the marshes of Camargue, France, won numerous awards on its release, including the Short Film Palme d'Or Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also became popular with children and was marketed for them. The story tells a fable of how a young boy tames a wild white stallion called White Mane.

Après volé les bijoux de la passagère d’une voiture dont ils ont agressé le chauffeur, des malfrats dissimulent les bijoux volés dans le socle d'une statue. La police les arrête pour l'effraction d'une distillerie dans laquelle ils ont simulé une beuverie pour se doter d'un alibi les disculpant de toute participation au vol. Ils sont alors condamnés à un an de prison, après quoi ils pourront récupérer le butin dissimulé. Mais à la Prison Saint-Pierre, les choses tournent mal ; les comparses sont en effet mystérieusement éliminés les uns après les autres, sauf un qui craint lui-même pour sa vie.

Après cinq ans d'emprisonnement dans un établissement pénitentiaire de Marseille, Corey (Alain Delon) est sur le point d'être libéré. La veille de sa sortie, le gardien-chef de la prison lui propose une affaire. Sitôt libre, Corey rend visite à son ancien comparse, un nommé Rico, caïd enrichi, devenu amant de sa petite amie. Corey contraint le malfrat à lui remettre une somme d'argent liquide importante. Amer, ce dernier dépêche deux sbires aux trousses de Corey. Dans une salle de billard, Corey saisit une queue et, à l'aide d'une craie rouge, trace avec son procédé (l'embout de la queue qui sert à frapper les boules) un cercle qu'il remplit ensuite, avant de disperser les boules. Les hommes de Rico le rejoignent et l'entretien se termine dans le sang. Mais Corey en repart indemne. Il achète une voiture d'occasion remarquée dans la vitrine d'un revendeur automobile et entreprend de regagner son domicile du 16e arrondissement de Paris.
