Emanuelle Escapes from Hell (Italian: Emanuelle fuga dall'inferno), also known as Blade Violent, Women's Prison Massacre, and Emanuelle in Prison is a 1983 Italian women in prison film directed by Bruno Mattei and starring Laura Gemser, Gabriele Tinti, Carlo De Mejo, Lorraine De Selle, and Franca Stoppi. The film was written and co-directed by Claudio Fragasso (a longtime Mattei collaborator), and was shot in 1982 with a mostly French crew. The film has achieved a certain level of cult status recently due to its exploitive nature, extreme violence, and cheesy dialog.

Synopsis

Emanuelle is sent to a violent women's prison. While she is in prison, she comes into confrontation with the "top dog" inmate Albina, ending in a series of fights. Albina gets the worse of it, including a broken arm, a knife in her leg, and her wig pulled off.

Renouncing her sinful past Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) moves into a convent and becomes a nun, dedicating her life to religion and rejecting sin. Monika (Mónica Zanchi) a free-spirited daughter of a rich Baron joins the convent. She tells one sister how she was sexually assaulted by a group of young men (from a flashback sequence we learn that she actually consented and encourages them to make advances at her by revealing her breasts); this gains her sympathy from her fellow sisters. Monika has a sexual relationship with another sister and blackmails her (by refusing sex) if she does not comply with her demands. Later a mysterious man, armed with a gun visits the convent. He has sex with Monika; witnessed by most nuns in the convent. Monika is later dismissed. Emanuelle later leaves at her own free-will.

She succeeds in meeting him with help from her friend Susan Towers (Ely Galleani) and Prince Aurozanni (Pierre Marfurt) but is intrigued by other events, leading her to meet the white slave trader Francis Harley (Gabriele Tinti) and puts her to a dangerous quest at the San Diego mansion of Madame Claude (Gota Gobert), which functions as a brothel for top-level dignitaries and civil servants.
