Classmates Laaj (Waheeda Rehman) and Shyam elope to Bombay with Laaj's necklace, which they hope to pawn to pay for their travels. On the train, a crafty journalist named Pran (Dev Anand) overhears the lovers' plan and follows them in search of a story. When Shyam snatches the necklace and runs off, it's Pran to the rescue. What follows is a song-filled caper of intrigue, adventure and romance. Then Laaj is helped by Pran, firstly on the railway track,then when laaj become sad,she tries to drown herself.

Drummond is hired after a series of inexplicable accidents befall the people and companies who are responsible for developing the world's first supersonic airliner, the SST1. Drummond, with the help of another agent, uncovers a plot by a mastermind named Carl Petersen, who stands to gain eight million pounds if the aircraft is not ready by a certain date. Petersen has developed a number of robots: beautiful girls with electronic brains to help him sabotage the SST1 project by means of infrasound (sound waves with too low frequency to be detected by the human ear) which can be directed at people or objects with devastating results.

The Stooges are tree surgeons who are enlisted by a rich old man to find a mate for his rare puckerless persimmon tree. The boys sail to the fictional tropical island of Rhum-Boogie to find the tree. When they arrive they are captured by the natives and will be eaten unless Curly marries the Chief's ugly sister. The Stooges manage to escape with the tree and, after a confrontation with an alligator, sail off with their prize.
