Au milieu d’un carnaval tenu par une petite société bourgeoise, marivaudages et aventures amoureuses se multiplient jusqu’à ce qu’un billet doux égaré provoque le scandale.
Après 16 ans d’exil aux Etats Unis où il exerça le métier de Taxi, Slim (Sammo Hung) décide de retourner en Chine auprès de sa famille, et constate les changements survenus lors de son absence. Ce retour est aussi l’occasion de retrouver sa cousine Jenny, qui retourne, elle aussi, dans la maison de ses ancêtres, pleine d'incertitude face à l'accueil de ses parents avec qui, elle n'a communiqué qu'une seule fois en 16 ans.
Cass (Quinlan), Rita (Curtis), Sylvie (Griffith), Virginia (Blanchard) and Yvette (Carmen) are five beautiful Women's Army Corps recruits attached to the United States Army's 3rd Platoon of Alpha Company at Fort Jackson. Although they are raw recruits, their drill sergeant, Sgt. Reed (MacLachlan), sees them as future soldiers. The proposal relates the women's efforts to train to become soldiers while also dealing with their personal problems. During and by the end of their basic training, they discover that a soldier's life is more than a uniform and that strength doesn't always depend on the size of their muscles.
The film follows the story of football team owner Bert (George Kennedy) who will inherit one million dollars from a railroad tycoon if he can successfully drive a steam train from New York City to its namesake of Chattanooga, Tennessee in 24 hours. He invites his girlfriend Maggie (Barbara Eden) and his team on the train, who invite their own guests and pick up new ones along the trip. The comedy is derived from numerous delays along the way.
A youthful student Robby (Mörl) joins his new classmates in a Munich school, where he meets the extrovert Tina (Nena) and falls in love with her. Tina, however, only has eyes for Tino (Gerber), an unemployed womanizer who works on a fairground. While Robby tries in vain to conquer Tina's heart, she already has other plans: she wants to drop out of school and run away with Tino. Tino, however, drives off without Tina. In order to quickly catch him up, Tina, without explaining her motives, charms Robby to "step on the gas" and on Robby’s scooter, Tina and Robby give chase. Over the course of their pursuit they come to like each other more and more.
