Sung (Chow) is by far the best lawyer in Guangdong and the outlying areas of Southeast China. His skills have earned his family an excellent living, albeit his habit of winning all his cases by whatever means necessary. Because of his shyster ways, none of his sons survived beyond a year old, causing grief for his wife Madam Sung (Mui). Après une course effrénée (filmée en mettant bout à bout trois fois le même plan), Phillip (Richard Harrison) tue Roger, ayant vendu des informations aux Japonais. Mike (Mike Abbott), le frère de Roger, veut se venger de Phillip. Il envoie Bob, Blackie (Nathan Mutanda Chukueke) et un autre sbire retrouver Phillip. Ce dernier, rompu à l'utilisation des armes à feu, tue le personnage sans nom, puis Blackie et encore un autre non-identifié. Enfin, Phillip abat rapidement Bob. Mike décide alors de poursuivre Philip, mais il se fera finalement abattre par une grenade de Philip, qui se retrouve seul et vainqueur.

Husker, is sent to the Shaolin Temple by the Iron Fisted Monk (Chen Sing), after he saves Sammo from a beating by the Manchu's. After being trained by his master (James Tien) he runs away from the temple, only to be confronted by his master and forced to take the four tests. Whilst this is happening, Fung Hark-On is indulging in his passion for raping women, and is virtually above the law as he is a powerful Manchu officer. He begins by raping Liang's (Chu Ching) sister, who then commits suicide and makes Liang a very angry man. Liang takes his revenge by killing one of those pesky Manchus but everyone thinks Sammo is responsible.
