Le film est accompagné par une narration en voix off ; les personnages eux-mêmes ne parlent pratiquement pas. Achille est attiré depuis longtemps par son compagnon d'armes Patrocle sans bien s'en rendre compte. Lorsque le prince troyen Pâris enlève Hélène, reine de Sparte, Achille et Patrocle se joignent à l'armée conduite par Agamemnon et Ménélas pour assiéger Troie et réclamer Hélène. Achille est le meilleur héros des Achéens. Patrocle est attiré par lui, mais Achille repousse d'abord ses avances. Tous deux incarnent Pâris et Hélène dans une représentation théâtrale relatant les événements à l'origine de la guerre ; mais au cours de la représentation, Achille se rend compte que Patrocle l'attire.

La déesse Artémis (Frédérique Barré) a faussé compagnie à l'Olympe et est devenue une jeune femme qui va à la fac à Caen en France. D'abord d'un caractère misanthrope et solitaire, car elle préfère la compagnie des animaux et des enfants à celle des adultes, Artémis voit son quotidien changer lorsqu'elle fait la connaissance de la nymphe Kalie Steaux (autrement dit Callisto, jouée par Noémie Rosset), qui lui propose de prendre une colocation avec elle. Très vite, les deux jeunes femmes se lient d'amitié et entreprennent toutes sortes d'activités et de voyages. Le tout est raconté par un narrateur omniscient (Hubert Viel) qui a parfois un peu de mal à suivre les événements.

Eleven-year-old Kevin has a vivid imagination and is fascinated by history, particularly Ancient Greece; his parents ignore his activities, having become more obsessed with buying the latest household gadgets to keep up with their neighbours. One night, as Kevin is sleeping, an armoured knight on a horse bursts out of his wardrobe. Kevin is scared and hides as the knight rides off into a forest setting where once his bedroom wall was; when Kevin looks back out, the room is back to normal and he finds one of his photos on the wall similar to the forest he saw. The next night he prepares a satchel with supplies and a Polaroid camera, but is surprised when six dwarves spill out of the wardrobe. Kevin quickly learns the group has stolen a large, worn map, and are looking for an exit from Kevin's room before they are discovered. They find that Kevin's bedroom wall can be pushed, revealing a long hallway. Kevin is hesitant to join until the visage of a menacing head – the Supreme Being – appears behind them, demanding the return of the map. Kevin and the dwarves fall into an empty void at the end of the hallway.

The film is set in long-ago Rome during the reign of Emperor Tiberius Caesar. In the countryside, a group of travelers come across some sheep and kill some for food. They are interrupted by their owner, a ferocious cyclops, the last of his kind, which kills them all but one who escapes back to Rome. There he sends word to the Emperor that a cyclops has been sighted. He sends his best commander Marcus Romulus (played by Kevin Stapleton) to capture the mankiller. Though it costs him some of his men, Marcus succeeds and takes the cyclops back to Rome. Emperor Tiberius needs a new beast for his circus. When he sees how much attention the cyclops attracts, the emperor decides to use him instead of expensive lions.
