La famille Tashiro mène une vie paisible à Kamakura. En déplacement à Tokyo, Isao, le chef de famille, rencontre fortuitement son voisin, Sugimoto. Celui-ci, à la recherche de son épouse disparue, n'est pas parvenu à la retrouver. Les deux hommes décident alors de boire un verre ensemble puis de rentrer chez eux. Or, le même soir, Yumiko, une amie de Sayuri, la femme de Sugimoto, annonce que cette dernière a été assassinée chez elle. À l'enterrement, Yumiko se rappelle avoir vu Isao Tashiro sortir de l'appartement de Sayuri. Rongé par le remords et la culpabilité, Isao confie à son épouse qu'il est le meurtrier de Sayuri. Celle-ci adorait se sentir étranglée durant l'acte d'amour, et le jeu s'était, cette fois-là, mal terminé. Malgré les conseils de son épouse, puis de Sugimoto, également informé de l'accident, Isao, parfaitement incapable de surmonter ses sentiments de culpabilité, menace de se dénoncer à la police. Masako, voulant sauver à n'importe quel prix la réputation de la famille et l'avenir de ses deux enfants, empoisonne alors son mari.

Police Detective Shindo (Yosuke Natsuki) is assigned to guard Princess Selina Salno of Selgina (Akiko Wakabayashi) during the Princess' visit to Japan, due to a suspected assassination plot. Sukezaemon est un bandit recherché pour piraterie par les autorités japonaises. Arrivant à s’échapper de son exécution, il affirme devant tout ses hommes vouloir devenir un véritable pirate. Mais le sort en décidera autrement puisque une tempête vient détruire ce rêve, réduisant le bateau en pièces, tuant tout l’équipage. Il se retrouve seul avec un trésor et deux hommes. Et une seconde fois, la malchance s’abat sur lui, dans cette détresse il croise le grand Pirate Noir qui ne se prive pas de tuer les deux hommes et de lui voler son trésor. Délaissé en pleine mer, il dérive vers une terre inconnue où un vieillard lui vient en aide. Il apprend que la situation du pays est plutôt mauvaise, en effet le roi prend en otage les femmes sans jamais les libérer. Mais c’est en apercevant la princesse et ses bijoux, qu’il décide d’aller voir d’un peu plus près la réalité.

Mr. Tako, head of Pacific Pharmaceuticals, is frustrated with the television shows his company is sponsoring and wants something to boost his ratings. When a doctor tells Tako about a giant monster he discovered on the small Faro Island, Tako believes that it would be a brilliant idea to use the monster to gain publicity. Tako immediately sends two men, Sakurai and Kinsaburo, to find and bring back the monster. Meanwhile, the American submarine Seahawk gets caught in an iceberg. The iceberg collapses, unleashing Godzilla (who, in the Japanese version, had been trapped within since 1955), who then destroys the submarine and a nearby military base.
