Alba Caterina Rohrwacher (born 27 February 1979) is an Italian actress.
Alba Rohrwacher was born in Florence, the daughter of a German father and an Italian mother. She studied acting at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Her first movie role was in 2004 in L'amore ritrovato. In 2008 she was awarded the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress. In 2009 she received a David di Donatello for Best Actress for her performance in Pupi Avati's Giovanna's Father. At the Berlin International Film Festival 2009 she was awarded the Shooting Stars Award.
She is the sister of Alice Rohrwacher, who was awarded the 2011 Nastro d'Argento for Best New Director for Corpo Celeste.
On 6 September 2014, Rohrwacher won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 71st Venice International Film Festival in Hungry Hearts, a film by Italian director Saverio Constanzo.
Après quelques apparitions au théâtre, elle enchaîne les rôles au cinéma, et s'impose dans les années 2010, avec notamment son interprétation dans Amore de Luca Guadagnino, dans La Solitude des nombres premiers de Saverio Costanzo, dans La Belle endormie de Marco Bellocchio, dans Vierge sous serment de Laura Bispuri puis dans Sangue del mio sangue de Marco Bellocchio.
En 2011, elle est membre du jury de la Mostra de Venise 2011, présidé par Darren Aronofsky.
Alba Rohrwacher obtient la Coupe Volpi de la meilleure actrice à la Mostra de Venise 2014 pour son rôle de femme possédée dans Hungry Hearts de Saverio Costanzo, qui est aussi son compagnon.
En février 2016, elle fait partie du jury international des longs métrages lors du 66e Festival de Berlin, présidé par la comédienne américaine Meryl Streep.

Alba Rohrwacher est la sœur de la scénariste et réalisatrice Alice Rohrwacher, de presque deux ans sa cadette. Sa mère est une enseignante italienne et son père un violoniste allemand, qui s'est ensuite reconverti dans l'apiculture en Ombrie.
