Alberto Morin (parfois crédité Albert Morin) est un acteur portoricain, de son vrai nom Salvador R. López, né le 26 décembre 1902 à San Juan (Porto Rico), mort le 7 avril 1989 à Burbank (Californie).

Biography

D'ascendance espagnole et française, il s'installe aux États-Unis et y débute au cinéma en 1928, sous le pseudonyme d'Alberto Morin. Son deuxième film est Hommes sans femmes (1930) de John Ford, qu'il retrouvera par la suite, notamment dans Rio Grande (1950), avec John Wayne. Il retrouve également ce dernier dans d'autres films, tel Chisum d'Andrew V. McLaglen (1970).

Second rôle de caractère (souvent non-crédité), il apparaît en tout dans plus de cent-trente films américains (dont bon nombre bien connus), régulièrement jusqu'en 1975, avant une ultime prestation dans Milagro de Robert Redford, sorti en 1988.

Parmi ses autres films notables, citons Les Boucaniers d'Anthony Quinn (1958, avec Yul Brynner et Charlton Heston), Cette terre qui est mienne d'Henry King (1959, avec Rock Hudson et Jean Simmons), ou encore Sierra torride de Don Siegel (1970, avec Clint Eastwood et Shirley MacLaine).

Doc Savage (Ron Ely) returns to New York City following a visit to his Arctic hideaway, the Fortess of Solitude. He learns that his father has died under mysterious circumstances while exploring the remote interior of the Central American Republic of Hidalgo. While examining his father's personal papers, Doc finds himself the target of an assassination attempt. Doc Savage chases and corners the sniper on the nearby Eastern Cranmoor Building, but the would-be assassin loses his footing and falls to his death. Examining the body, Doc discovers that his assailant is a Native American with peculiar markings; his fingertips are red, as if dipped in blood, while his chest bears an elaborate tattoo of the ancient Mayan god Kukulcan. Returning to his penthouse headquarters, Doc finds that intruders have destroyed his father's personal papers. Vowing to solve his father's murder, Doc Savage flies to Hidalgo with "The Fabulous Five", his brain trust, at his side.
