Alfred Paget (1879–1919) was an English silent film actor. He appeared in 239 films between 1908 and 1918. Prior to his film career, he had served from 1899 to 1903 in the Royal Horse Guards of the British Army. He served in South Africa, receiving the Queen's South Africa Medal. In April of 1918 he travelled to Canada and enrolled in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, being assigned to the 34th Fort Garry Horse Depot Squadron in Winnipeg as an instructor, being quickly promoted to the rank of Sergeant due to his previous service and experience. In the summer of 1919, he contracted a form of malarial fever, and died in Winnipeg on 9 October 1919. He is buried in the Field Of Honour in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg.

As described in a film magazine review, after the death of her father leaves Stella Benton (Williams) without a home, she goes to live with her brother Charlie (Paget) in the timber regions. The roughness of her surroundings proves a burden to Stella, and when Jack Fife (Reid), who loves her, asks her to marry him, she accepts even through she does not love him. Jack tries to win his bride's love, but to no avail. Finally, she goes to the city to try and forget her unhappy married life. She becomes infatuated with Walter Monahan (King), but after she sees him at a cafe with another woman, she realizes his fickleness, and her love for Jack comes to the surface. She returns to the timber regions where she is happily received by her husband.

As described in a film magazine, Octavia Bassett (Martin) of Bloody Gulch, after a breakup with her sweetheart, decides to visit her Aunt Belinda (Wolfe) in Slowbridge. Her apparel and automobile shock the inhabitants of Slowbridge, and tongues are set wagging at the musicale of Lady Theobald (Crowell). Octavia matches wits with Captain Barold (Gerrald). Lady Theobald is anxious for the Caption to marry her niece Lucia (Busch). However, Lucia loves Mr. Burmistone (Paget), a "common" mill owner. Just as Octavia has decided that she will marry the Captain, her father and Jack Belasys (MacLean), her ex-fiance, arrive in Slowbridge. The pleasure of seeing Jack and knowing that she can return to Bloody Gulch reunite Jack and Octavia.

Based on a summary in a film magazine, Enoch, Annie, and Walter grow up as friends. Later, Annie decides to marry Enoch, but Walter, though bitter about the decision, remains their friend. Enoch and Annie have two children. Then business takes Enoch on a sailing voyage, which he states will take less than one year, and he asks Walter to look over his family while he is gone. Enoch does not return, and Walter dutifully cares after Enoch's wife and children. After ten years word comes of a wreck seen in the Pacific, and everyone believes Enoch has died. Walter and Annie then marry. One night a stranger comes to the house and through a window sees Walter, Annie, and the children happy. The stranger, who is Enoch, finds an old woman who tells him what happened. Enoch tells her to keep his secret, and then leaves. He later dies with a smile on his face.
