Allan Miller (born February 14, 1929) is an American actor, best known for the role of Harland Richards in Santa Barbara.
Miller was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Anna (née Diamond) and Benedict Miller.
He is best known for his appearances on television, including Kojak, The Rockford Files, The Streets of San Francisco, Hawaii Five-O, Nero Wolfe, Lou Grant, Wonder Woman, Starsky and Hutch, Barnaby Jones, Soap, Galactica 1980, Barney Miller, Knots Landing, Quincy, M.E., Cagney & Lacey, Highway to Heaven, Dallas, Airwolf, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, thirtysomething, Matlock, Who's the Boss?, Northern Exposure, L.A. Forty-year-old Guy Trilby discovers a loophole in the Golden Quill Spelling Bee which stipulates that participants must have not graduated from the eighth grade, allowing him to enter since he dropped out of middle school. He attends and wins a regional spelling bee, and progresses to the national competition after confrontations with both the parents of children and the spelling bee hosts. He is accompanied by Jenny Widgeon, a relatively unknown journalist hoping to make a story out of his participation in the bee. On the flight to the national spelling bee, Guy meets Chaitanya Chopra, a 10-year-old entrant in the bee who persistently attempts to befriend Guy. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Guy meets the director of the spelling bee, Dr. Bernice Deagan, who expresses anger at his participation in the bee and places him and his reporter in a cheap hotel. Guy learns that Chaitanya is staying in the same hotel, and takes him out one night to expose Chaitanya to the wilder side of life: stealing food, drinking, and briefly hiring a prostitute.

The Federation Starship Enterprise returns to Earth following a battle with the superhuman Khan Noonien Singh, who tried to destroy the Enterprise by detonating an experimental terraforming device known as Genesis. The casualties of the fight include Admiral James T. Kirk's Vulcan friend, Spock, whose casket was launched into space and eventually landed on the planet created by the Genesis Device. On arriving at Earth Spacedock, Doctor Leonard McCoy begins to act strangely and is detained.
