Amal Neerad (born October 7, 1976 in kollam, Kerala, India) is an Indian cinematographer, film director, and producer. He graduated from the Satyajit Ray Film And Television Institure of India, Kolkata(first batch) and went on to film and direct several movies in India. He was awarded National Award in 2001 for best cinematography for the diploma film Meena Jha during graduation (short feature section).

The film starts with a message "The aged aren't always wise, nor do the elderly always understand justice" Job 32:9. The story is narrated by the communist leader (TG Ravi) who witnessed it. The story is set in 1900 in Munnar in British occupied India. Harrison is a British businessman who comes to Munnar to cultivate tea. Harrison finds an able boy amidst his workers and names him 'Iyob'(Job). Harrison holds Iyob close and helps him get married to Annamma (Reenu Mathews). Harrison's wife leaves him, later he sees Kazhali (Lena) and becomes interested in her. When he finds out Kazhali's relation with Thacho, one of his servants. Iyob kills Thacho after Harrison order him to. Afterwards, Harrison takes Kazhali as his mistress and she becomes pregnant. In the time of the First World War, Harrison's business gets affected and he leaves for Britain but dies on the way. Knowing this Iyob throws Kazhali out of the house and takes over all assets of Harrison.

The movie is about the journey of a Malayali youth Anwar (Prithviraj) into the clutches of anti-social elements. The protagonist has another hidden agenda in joining the terrorist outfit. The movie opens with the visuals of Coimbatore bomb blast and the introduction of a special team under Stalin Manimaran (Prakash Raj) who arrests Babu Sait (Lal), a local community leader as a suspect in the bomb blast case. Meanwhile, Anwar a Muslim youth is arrested while passing on with some Hawala money and is sent to jail with Babu Sait and his team. Anwar performs his Namaaz daily five times. He is also fascinated by the terrorist activities of Babu Sait. Babu Sait helps Anwar in getting a bail and lures him to his activities. Anwar is attracted towards Terror acts and even successfully terminates two local drug dealers. Soon he becomes the most trusted and obedient right hand of Babu Sait. Anwar succeeds in planting a bomb in the police Headquarters and is soon introduced to Basheer Bhai (Sampath Raj), who selects him to spearhead another big, but dangerous project of chain blasts. Their plans were to plant a series of chain blasts in Mumbai. Though Anwar goes on with their plans, he has a haunting flashback, which forms the twist in the story. Babu Sait Shows the pictures of the coimbatore blast, which diverts Anwar to his flashback. The Flashback goes like this: Anwar and his family is a family that lives in a rural area of Palakkad. Anwar, an NRI returns from America for his sister's wedding. There he meets his sister's best friend Ayesha (Mamta Mohandas), and falls for her. His family knows about this and proposes to her. She accepts. But when they go out for shopping to Coimbatore, Anwar goes out of the cloth shop for refreshing and a sudden blast happens, killing the whole family except him. Meanwhile, Ayesha is arrested & then Anwar goes out to Stalin for her bail. But he refuses and tell it could not be done owing to lack of proof. He then tells Stalin that he will assist in the discovery of the terrorists, which lead to the present part of the story. Both of them have a secret meeting about the bomb blasts planned by Babu Sait & Co. Stalin brings Ayesha so that they could meet after a long time. When Babu Sait's Men arrives, Stalin tells Anwar to act as if they were having a fight, and one of the Babu Sait's men shoot Stalin, hereby killing, thinking that Anwar was having a fight. But after that, Anwar was given the big responsibility of transporting the deadly terrorists to Mumbai, through a ship containing full of explosives & weapons. Anwar at first made them think that he was on their side, but soon he blasts the ship by firing on it and killing all of the terrorists. Babu Sait becomes furious, that Anwar cheated them. When Anwar says about his parents, their flashbacks, which Babu Sait commits suicide. Anwar then calls the phone of Stalin which is under the police custody. He tells that the mission is over. After that it is narrated that Stalin & his colleague got bravery awards but no one has recognised the near-death battle Anwar has played. The film ends when both Anwar & Ayesha are in a quiet place, living together in a small house. The end-credits rolls with the "Njan" song.

Sagar Alias Jacky (Mohanlal) is a gangster who is known for solving problems among big gangs. The Chief Minister's(Nedumudi Venu) son-in-law, Manu(Manoj K Jayan) is kidnapped and the police are unable to find a clue. Manu's wife Indu(Shobhana) realises that the police have been influenced by her brother Hari(Ganesh) who seems to know the kidnappers. Indu decides to call her best friend Sagar to help find her husband. Sagar calls his best henchmen from all over Kerala for the job. The gang then travels to Goa where Sagar's contact tells him that the kidnappers are the Rosario brothers(Sampath Raj,Sherveer Vakil) who run the most powerful gang in the Goa underworld. After considerable difficulties, Sagar and his gang locate the night club where Manu is held hostage and helps him to escape. This audacity does not sit well with the Rosarios who swear vengeance against Sagar. They kidnap one of Sagar's favourite gangsters and demand ransom. Sagar responds by kidnapping two of the three Rosario brothers and demands that his man be released at once. Realising that they would never be able to defeat Sagar in a heads-on battle, the Rosario brothers make a deal with Manu and Hari to deliver Sagar's current location. The Rosarios then try to assassinate Sagar but fail. Frustrated with repeated defeats, the Rosarios then approach Sagar's rival, Nanthakrishna Naina(Suman). Naina supplies them with a sniper, Sheikh Imran(Rahul Dev), who is also an internationally infamous assassin. Imran is asked to assassinate Manu so that the Sagar can be framed for the murder. But the Rosarios' plan backfires as Indu gives witness that Sagar was not responsible for her husband's murder.

The ACP Balaji Shakthivel (Pasupathy) who is an upright cop, put in charge of investigations, tries his level best but cannot fetch any evidence to prove anything related. They soon find out that the murder was one of the many meticulously planned operations, aimed to check the teacher's intrusions into unlawful exporting of children from Kochi. As the Mayor (Ramesh Varma) and his henchman, an underworld don called Saiyuppu Tony (Sherveer Vakil) are involved, the brothers decide to take up arms to avenge their mother. How they accomplish their revenge forms the rest of the story.
