Il est directeur des productions de films indépendants, Videovision Entertaiment et Distant Horizon. Reconnu comme producteur de film éminent, il a produit plus de soixante films depuis 1984 dont il est responsable de plusieurs films anti-apartheid tournés en Afrique du Sud.
Il étudie à l'université de Durban-Westville. Il la quitter à ses dix-huit ans pour commencer sa carrière cinématographique, après avoir acheté une boutique de location des pellicules en format 16 mm qu'il la transformera aussitôt en distribution de vidéo, baptisée Videovision Entertaiment. Cette boutique devient, en 1984, une société de production en compagnie du réalisateur sud-africain Darrell Roodt qui y lancera le premier film Place of Weeping en 1986.

Il la quitter à ses dix-huit ans pour commencer sa carrière cinématographique, après avoir acheté une boutique de location des pellicules en format 16 mm qu'il la transformera aussitôt en distribution de vidéo, baptisée Videovision Entertaiment. Kenya, 2003: A radio DJ announces that the Kenyan government is offering free primary school education to all. Mr. Bones 2: Back from the Past takes place in 1879, and the titular Character is the great great grandfather of the Mr. Bones from the first film. It is the story of Hekule, the King of Kuvukiland who is given a gemstone by the dying Kunji Balanadin. The stone is cursed and causes Hekule to become possessed by the spirit of the mischievous Kunji, which Bones describes as "wild rider". It is up to Mr. Bones to cure his King and get rid of this cursed stone by travelling 130 years into the future, in the city of Durban. They meet a woman named Reshmi who gave them important clues to the gem and returning the gem to its home in an Indian fishing village named Ataram.

Mustafa (Sayed Badreya) is a widowed Egyptian immigrant and the owner of Habibe's Café, a popular hangout in Los Angeles for those with Middle Eastern backgrounds. He is devoted to providing his son, Richard Chagoury, with a moral upbringing despite the pressures of contemporary American urban life. He also finds himself cast in the role of protector to his unwed sister Salwah (Sarah Shahi), for whom, by family and tribal custom, he is responsible for finding a traditional suitor. Stephen and his daughter Justine run from a wireless internet ghost of Michelle, Stephen's late wife. The father and daughter stay at Stephen's cabin, away from the city. Tom Newman, a hydro-electrical engineer, arrives in Africa with his family to help build a dam. His daughter, Jessica, isn't getting along with her stepmother, Amy, because she is not happy about her parents divorce. The next morning, Amy, Jessica and her brother David go on a game drive with Brian, a ranger, while Tom goes to the dam. While driving off-road, David asks the ranger to stop the jeep because he has to defecate. Brian grabs his rifle and escorts David to a nearby tree. They encounter two lionesses, backed by a lion behind them. One lioness attacks and David runs back to the car, where Brian sacrifices himself to save the others. The keys lost, Amy, Jessica, and David are trapped in the car and stalked by the lions, who devour Brian. Back at the lodge, Tom is informed of his family's disappearance, and attempts to contact Crawford, a professional hunter and guide, at the suggestion of the park rangers. Crawford refuses to help him, as he is a big five hunt guide, not a leader of search parties. The next day, after not being able to accompany the rangers in the air, Tom goes to see Crawford, and manages to hire his services at the latter's own price. Back in the car, David spots Brian's keys, and Amy retrieves them, only to wreck the truck when she drives the wrong way. Crawford and Tom look for signs of them while checking in on the rangers trail periodically, but the rain the previous night has washed away any tracks. When the rangers fly by without noticing them, Jessica gets out and tries to draw their attention. She fails and, along with Amy, is attacked by one lioness, which is killed by two native hunters.

The film follows 17-year-old Cassandra Mortmain (Romola Garai), and the fortunes of her eccentric family, struggling to survive in genteel poverty in a decaying English castle. But events spiral out of control, and before the summer ends many expectations will have been overturned.
