Biography

Andrew Douglas, après avoir travaillé comme photographe, se fait remarquer dans la publicité, sa capacité naturelle à créer et donner vie à ses travaux en font une valeur sûre dans le milieu artistique/professionnel.
C’est ainsi que le réalisateur et producteur Michael Bay lui donnera l’occasion de rafraichir le mythe de la célèbre maison d’Amityville. Ce choix pourrait étonner car Andrew Douglas est plus habitué à la publicité, même s'il a réalisé un documentaire en 2003.

Sorti en grande pompe aux États-Unis en avril 2005 sur un parc de 3 323 écrans, le film séduit le public et se classe numéro 1 au box office pour son premier WE et cumule en fin de parcours plus de 65 millions de $. Au total le film a rapporté plus de 108 millions dans le monde pour un budget de 19 millions.

Plusieurs projets se sont présentés à lui après la sortie du film mais rien n’a été concrétisé, Andrew n’a plus rien tourné pendant 3 ans. C’est en 2008 qu’il a repris le travail en réalisant un court métrage. Mais par la suite viendra encore un passage à vide. Mais 2012 devrait lui faire revenir sur le devant de la scène avec un long métrage intitulé “You Want Me to Kill Him” écrit par Moke Walden.

Detective Inspector Sarah Clayton (Joanne Froggatt) tries to establish why British schoolboy Mark (Jamie Blackley) would want to stab John (Toby Regbo). The two were supposed to be friends, yet Mark claims that the crime was necessary. As she looks deeper into the crime and the two teenagers, she discovers that Mark frequented chatrooms and became fascinated with Rachel (Jaime Winstone), a woman he met in one such room. With her prompting he agrees to make friends with her brother John. Mark quickly begins to fall for her, sympathizing with her tales of domestic abuse by her boyfriend Kevin (Mingus Johnston) while believing that they cannot meet because she is in a witness protection program.

In 1974, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. murdered his family at their house in Amityville, New York. He claimed that he was persuaded to kill them by voices he heard in the house. One year later, married couple George (Ryan Reynolds) and Kathy Lutz (Melissa George) move into the house along with the latter's three children from a previous marriage, Billy, Michael and Chelsea. The family soon begins experiencing paranormal events in the house. Chelsea (Chloë Grace Moretz) claims that she befriended a girl named Jodie, a name belonging to one of the murdered DeFeo children. One day the couple decide to go out, and they hire a babysitter to watch the 3 kids. When the babysitter, Lisa (Rachel Nichols), arrives they come to find out that she had previously been hired to babysit the DeFeos.
