Andrew M. Niccol (born 1 January 1960) is a New Zealand screenwriter, producer, and director. He wrote and directed Gattaca, S1m0ne, In Time, and Lord of War. He also wrote and co-produced The Truman Show, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 1999 and won a BAFTA award for Best Screenplay. His films tend to explore social, cultural and political issues.

Biography
Niccol was born in Paraparaumu, New Zealand, and grew up in Auckland, where he attended Auckland Grammar School beginning in 1973. He left New Zealand at age 21 and began directing TV ads in London. During production of S1m0ne, he met model Rachel Roberts, with whom he has two children, Jack (born 2003) and Ava (born 2008).Best films

Dans un monde futur, proche du totalitarisme, où des implants bioniques avancés signifient que toutes les personnes sont soumises à un flot visuel incessant de données qu'ils nomment « l'œil de l'esprit », la vie privée et l'anonymat comme nous les connaissons ont totalement disparu. Avec les informations personnelles de tout un chacun en affichage public, la vie de chaque personne étant enregistrée jusqu'à la milliseconde, les informations personnelles sont téléchargées sur une vaste grille appelée "l"Ether", une base de données que les forces de l'ordre peuvent consulter et utiliser pour poursuivre les criminels. L'inspecteur Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) est confronté à une série de terribles meurtres qui semblent être liés. La police se trouve dans l'incapacité d'identifier le tueur dont la particularité est de hacker ses victimes au point qu'elle se retrouvent avec le point de vue du tueur qui braque son arme sur elles et appuie sur la gâchette. Il devient vite apparent que ce que les meurtres ont en commun signale une rupture majeure dans le système sur lequel la société est basée. Alors qu'il enquête sur l'affaire, Frieland rencontre une femme (Amanda Seyfried) qui semble n'avoir aucune identité et qui s'avèrera être Anon. Quelque chose qu'il considère initialement comme un petit pépin devient en fait le premier indice démontrant que la sécurité de l '« œil de l'esprit » a été compromise, envoyant Frieland dans une mission où il sert d'appât pour tenter de piéger quelqu'un qui n'existe pas.

In 2169, people are born genetically engineered with a digital clock on their forearm. When they turn 25 years old, they stop aging and their clock begins counting down from one year; when it reaches zero, that person "times out" and dies. Time has become the universal currency; it is used to pay for daily expenses and can be transferred between people or capsules. The country has been divided into "time zones" based on the wealth of the population. When Nicola Anders (Winona Ryder), the star of out-of-favor director Viktor Taransky's (Al Pacino) new film refuses to finish it, Taransky is forced to find a replacement. Contractual requirements totally prevent using her image in the film, so he must re-shoot. Instead, Viktor experiments with a new computer program he inherits from late acquaintance Hank Aleno (Elias Koteas) which allows creation of a computer-generated woman which he can easily animate to play the film's central character. Viktor names his virtual actor "Simone", a name derived from the computer program's title, Simulation One. Seamlessly incorporated into the film, Simone (Rachel Roberts) gives a fantastic performance, exactly controlled by Viktor. The film is immediately a huge success.

Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks), a traveler from the nation of Krakozhia, arrives at New York's John F.
