Long ago, a great drought befell a village. A dancer (Veda Archana Sastry) from a traditional family came forth to dance in the Shiva temple for many days and nights. Edu Kondalu (Ravi Teja) is an uneducated, head strong youth in Bobbarlanka village. He and his village heads decide to close down the nearby factory by appealing to politicians as its letting out a lot of pollutants into the river which is the main source of food, water and livelihood for them. He and another girl Manga Thaayaru (Aarti Agarwal) are sent to Hyderabad to appeal to MLA of their constituency - Byragi Naidu (Sayaji Shinde). They stay at a Friend's place (Ali's house) and try to get their work done by the minister. In the process many hurdles come across them. Edu Kondalu roughs up a few of the MLA's goons and is always at loggerheads with his henchmen. After all this, Byragi Naidu begins to show his true colors and plans to butcher Edu Kondalu as he is forming as an obstruction to his underground activities, unknowingly. Then, the protagonist of the story decides to teach the MLA a lesson, get his job done of closing down the factory. Swapna (Reema Sen) is a journalist who stays in Edu Kondalu's locality and has a heavy crush on him. She also helps him in pinning down the minister. The remaining plot is how intelligently Edu Kondalu outclasses the minister and earns good name. Also in the plot, the hero makes use of Shakeela's films to defame the minister and she herself makes an appearance in the film.

Sati Gujaral is a music teacher in a school for Tibetan children run by the Tibetan government-in-exile and her husband Gopi Gujaral is a doctor in a government hospital. Their only son, Ashok is a pilot with the Indian Air Force. The atmosphere is tense with the possibility of a war between India and Pakistan. A clotheswashgirl finds a hand in a creek where she was washing clothes. She and other clotheswashmen nearby gather together and summon the police. After an investigation, the police find various parts of this body, and determine it to be that of a young woman. They do not succeed in finding the head of the corpse, and a check with missing persons produces negative results. When Inspector Pyare Mohan, who was assigned to this investigation, receives a threat by an anonymous caller on the phone, he recommends that this file be closed. Then additional evidence surfaces, and the case is turned over to CBI Office Jasraj Patel, who along with his assistant, Gangaram, arrive to take over this investigation. They find out that the corpse is indeed of a young woman, Roshni Choubey. Roshni comes from a poor family of four unmarried sisters. Roshni seemed to be involved with several men, including Dr. Kamal Dogra (Ashutosh Rana), Mohan Multani (Aditya Pancholi), Captain Ajit Verma (Milind Soman) and Bishen Nanda (Akhilendra Mishra) - all of who have a motive for killing her and disposing off her body. Who is the real killer - is the challenge that now faces Jasraj, apart from the telephonic threat that he too has received from the anonymous caller. Patel delves into the case even more deeply, putting his life at risk as the killer is constantly trying to bump him off. Eventually, Patel concludes that Roshni might not be killed by any of the men she was involved with.

Sammohanam tells the story of a mysteriously seductive girl, Pennu (Archana) in a quiet village to which she has temporarily relocated, in search of her missing grandfather, Karuvan Valyachan. She creates a strange chasm among male folks, breaking marriages and old friendships. Chandu (Murali), a wealthy farmer who owns paddy fields was the first to fall for her charms and even breaks up with his wife Jaanu (Bindu Panicker) and family. Later when Pennu started wooing Chindan (Balakrishnan), a jaggery mill owner and a close friend of Chandu, he cannot stand it and attacked Chindan with a sickle, chopping off his earlobe. Then comes Ummini (Nedumudi Venu), a travelling seller with his pair of horses. He is an old alley of Pennu's grandfather. Soon he too got enchanted and fell for Pennu's charm. Ambu (Sarath), a helper of Chandu also has a hidden passion for Pennu, even though he is much younger to Pennu. Chandu sees Ummini and Pennu together and becomes angry and fought Ummini with his sickle. Ambu tries to intervene and gets accidentally knifed to death by Chandu. Chandu out of guilt and grief commits suicide by jumping in to a waterfall. Finally Pennu leaves the village alone, after torching her house, having fractured the village community with her sexuality.
