Bruce Bernard Geller (October 13, 1930 – May 21, 1978) was an American lyricist, screenwriter, director, and television producer.
En 1966, Geller écrit, créé et produit pour Desilu la série Mission impossible, qui durera jusqu'en 1973. En 1967, toujours pour Desilu, il écrit et produit une autre série à succès, Mannix, qui sera diffusée jusqu'en 1975. Après un seul et unique passage au cinéma avec Harry, gentleman pickpocket, il continue de produire d'autres séries moins notoires comme Bronk (1975), Jigsaw John (1976), plusieurs téléfilms, dont un qu'il réalise, The Savage Bees (1976). Il disparaît prématurément dans un accident d'avion en 1978.

Biography
Alumnus de l'Université Yale, il y reçoit son Baccalauréat en arts (Bachelor of Arts) puis rejoint l'American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers et devient parolier de comédies musicales off-Broadway en 1957 pour le compositeur Gene de Paul. Parallèlement, Geller écrit des scénarios pour plusieurs séries télévisées du DuMont Television Network, dont Inside Detective (1950) et Flash Gordon (1954). Geller quitte New York pour Hollywood et poursuit l'écriture de scripts de westerns télévisés tels Have Gun – Will Travel, The Westerner (créé par Sam Peckinpah) ou L'Homme à la carabine. En 1964, il devient co-producteur délégué de Rawhide.En 1966, Geller écrit, créé et produit pour Desilu la série Mission impossible, qui durera jusqu'en 1973. In Budapest to intercept a courier working for an individual code-named "Cobalt", IMF agent Trevor Hanaway is killed by assassin Sabine Moreau. Hanaway's team leader, Jane Carter, and newly promoted field agent Benji Dunn extract Ethan Hunt and his source, Bogdan, from a Moscow prison. Ethan is recruited to lead Jane and Benji to infiltrate secret Moscow Kremlin archives and locate files identifying Cobalt. During the mission, someone broadcasts across the IMF frequency, alerting the Russians to Ethan's team. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), while vacationing, is alerted by the IMF that someone has used his identity to assist Russian bio-chemical expert Dr. Vladimir Nekhorvich (Rade Serbedzija) of Biocyte Pharmaceuticals to enter the United States, only to kill him in a subsequent plane crash. Nekhorvich, an old friend of Ethan, had forewarned the IMF of his arrival, planning to deliver a new bioweapon, Chimera, and its cure, Bellerophon, both of which he was forced to develop by Biocyte, into the IMF's hands. With his death, IMF is worried that the virus is out in the open, believing that rogue IMF agent Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) is responsible. IMF assigns Ethan to recover it. Several years after the events of the series, Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) and his team, the Impossible Mission Force, are assigned to retrieve the IMF non-official cover list from the American embassy in Prague. Their mission fails: Phelps is shot point blank, his wife Claire (Emmanuelle Beart) dies in a car bombing, and the rest of the team except agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) are eliminated by an unknown assassin. When Gilbert Barrows (Robert Wagner) disobeys his boss and tries to refit an old Liberty Ship for cargo use instead of scrapping it, he inadvertently puts it into the hands of a colorful group of crooks led by good-hearted screw-up Bugsy G. Fogelmeyer (Ernie Kovacs) and brainy sociopath George M. Wilson (Frank Gorshin). The crooks plan to use the ship to make their getaway after they pull a bank robbery in Boston, and they kidnap Barrows and his girlfriend Elinor Harrison (Dolores Hart) – his boss's daughter – to prevent leaving any witnesses behind. With the help of Bugsy's nephew Rodney J. Fogelmeyer (Frankie Avalon), Gilbert and Elinor manage to foil the crooks' plans by using Elinor's bra as a slingshot and attracting the Coast Guard.
