Biography

Cécilia Rouaud est la fille du documentariste Christian Rouaud que l’on peut entrevoir fugacement dans les premiers plans de Je me suis fait tout petit, dans le rôle d’un épicier grognon. Son frère, Fabrice Rouaud, travaille régulièrement en tant que monteur avec Bertrand Bonello.

Elle fait ses débuts comme actrice, à l’âge de douze ans, dans La Fracture du myocarde de Jacques Fansten (1989). Cette expérience unique renforce son désir d’être... derrière la caméra ! Après une maîtrise de lettres modernes, elle débute comme troisième assistante sur le film de Gérard Jugnot, Meilleur espoir féminin (2000) et continue ensuite à ce poste aux côtés notamment de Patrice Chéreau et Cédric Klapisch.

En 2003, elle écrit et réalise son premier court métrage : Lapin intégral, interprété par Hélène de Fougerolles.

Son premier long métrage, Je me suis fait tout petit, sort en 2012 : il réunit Denis Ménochet, Vanessa Paradis, Léa Drucker et Laurent Lucas.

Four pathetic narrow minded petty criminals are mistaken for hitmen while ordered to shadow the philandering girl friend of their crime boss Carlito. In 1942, in Paris, which is seized by Germany, a grocer Edmond Batignole (Gérard Jugnot) is living with his family in his grocery building. He has a daughter who is soon to be married. His future son-in-law, Pierre-Jean (Jean-Paul Rouve) and his wife wanted the apartment owned by a Jewish family. When the properties of all the Jews was confiscated the Batignole family got the apartment. The Jewish family was sent to transportation to Germany. After the Batignoles had occupied the apartment the Batignoles organise a party for the SS officials and during that party young Simon Bernstein (Jules Sitruk) of the Jewish family who had escaped from the Germans, returns to his home. Edmond Batignole feels sorry for the boy and hides him in the apartment from his family before anyone else could see him. Soon Simon's cousins meet him in the cellar of the grocery and the grocer plans to smuggle the children over the border to Switzerland.

Yvon Rance, hairdresser by vocation, in the small town of Cancale, have one student daughter Laetitia, he wants to make her a successful hairdresser. She would open a salon in Laval or Quimper. But Laetitia wants to make films, she secretly auditioned and was selected for the leading role.
