Charle sometimes credited as Charlie (born Manohar Velmurugan Thangasamy; born 6 March 1960) is an Indian actor who has acted in more than 550 Tamil films as a comedian and supporting actor.
He started his career as a Staff Artist – Actor in Song & Drama Division of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and moved on to perform more than 10000 drama shows in Six years. He was named as Charle and introduced in the film "Poikal Kuthirai" in the year 1982 by the eminent director Padma Sri Dr.k.Balachandar. He has proved as a versatile actor in comedy as well as character roles in Tamil and Telugu films. He has more than 550 films to his credit and has played a vital role in many films, including films produced by National Film Development Corporation of India. He is highly talented in miming, mono acting and anchoring in stage shows and he has performed in various countries.
He holds a Master of Arts degree from Madurai Kamaraj University and Master of Philosophy degree from Karaikudi Alagappa University. He submitted his dissertation for M.Phil in the title, "Contributions of Comedians in the growth of Tamil cinema – 1937 to 1967".

Biography
He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry from G. V. N. College in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu. Even during those days when he was at college, he was known for his histrionics, and had the uncanny ability to imitate Tamil actors like Sivaji Ganeshan, Muthuraman, and Nagesh. He was an avid entertainer, and a popular stage artist, while at this college.He started his career as a Staff Artist – Actor in Song & Drama Division of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and moved on to perform more than 10000 drama shows in Six years. Suyambulingam is a honest and hard working cable operator who along with his assistant Sermadurai (Sree Raam) watches movies through the TV every night and returns home in the morning. Arun (Vikram Prabhu) is a struggling theatre artiste. With the help of his friends, who are also struggling theatre artistes, he starts a website called UMT which helps men struggling in love to successfully unite with the woman of their dreams with the help of theaterics. One day, UMT gets a rich client in the form of Santhosh (Navdeep), the owner of a real estate company. Santhosh is in love with a singer Maya (Keerthy Suresh) and offers ₹1,00,00,000 if Arun and his friends can help him in winning Maya's heart. Arun has second thoughts over the offer because Maya is his ex-girlfriend. They had broken up due to a serious misunderstanding between them. Though he still has feelings for Maya, he reluctantly agrees to help Santhosh. However, he foils all the plans to bring Santhosh and Maya together. A frustrated Santhosh then directly proposes to Maya, but she rejects him as she has still not forgotten Arun.

Kathir is a selfish youth in search of a job. Despite being married and having a child, he is waiting for a job offer that he feels meets his standards. Meanwhile, his wife Anitha is the breadwinner of the family. Prabhakar, a friendly neighbour who acts as his father figure, gets him a job as an informant with the less than honest local police inspector. Kathir uses this opportunity to take revenge against the violent bar owner who humiliated him in front of his friends, despite Prabhakar's advice. With his tip-off, the police raids the bar and arrests the owner for running an illegal gambling den as a side business. One night, Prabhakar is murdered by a group of thugs while a scared Kathir runs for his life. Suspecting that Prabhakar was murdered because he too was an informant, Kathir starts becoming paranoid. Eventually, he comes to realize that the inspector he is working for is now in cohorts with the bar owner after being promised a large sum of money as commission in return for permission to run their illegal businesses. Since Kathir is the only witness for most of the inspector's corrupt activities, the inspector has the bar owner send his thugs to kill Kathir too. However, the inspector eventually feels sorry for Kathir and allows him to live as long as he stays silent about all the underground operations being carried out by the local police station. In the end, Kathir takes up a low-paying but proper job at his wife's garment factory and earns an honest living.

This film is about an young aspiring Cricketer Jeeva, who dreams of playing for the India national cricket team one day. The films begins with Jeeva, sitting in a park bench and starts to narrate his life story. He is a lower middle class boy,who from the very young age is interested in cricket. He sees Sachin Tendulkar as his idol. Though his father initially does not support him, he later starts to do so on the request of his friend. Jeeva grows up and becomes a part of the school team. He excels in his game and turns out to be a star player. Seeing his performances, a local cricket club offers him a chance to join and train with them,for which his father disagrees saying that his academic performance is poor due to cricket and he may not get a job in future. In between Jeeva falls in love with his neighbour girl and they are broken up when their family comes to know about this. Jeeva starts to drink due to this heartbreak. So to make him concentrate on good deeds again, Jeeva's father agrees to let him join the cricket club.

This story begins with Chinna Vandu's (Dhanush) brothers Paranjothi and Paranthavan (Sriman and Sathyan) who are not yet married, despite their old age. Chinna Vandu, who studied in his uncle's son home, falls in love with Vanaroja (Nazriya Nazim) who comes there to visit her Grandma (Sachu) and see the village festival. Chinna Vandu finds many ways to make Vanaroja to fall in love such as making her laugh, but she still does not fall in love with Chinna Vandu. The film's plot revolves around Kanthaswamy (Vikram), who is an Income Tax officer in the CBI, and his friends, granting the wishes of the needy who write letters to a local Lord Muruga temple by disguising himself as an anthropomorphic rooster. During a CBI income tax raid, he discovers a stash of black money owned by Ponnusamy (Ashish Vidyarthi), a rich and corrupted entrepreneur. Ponnusamy pretends to be paralysed to escape the questioning. Angered by the news that her father is paralysed, Ponnusamy's daughter, Subbulakshmi (Shriya Saran) goes after Kanthaswamy to seek revenge by pretending to be in love with him. Kanthaswamy, knowing Subbulakshmi's real intentions plays along in the game. This forms a cat and mouse chase between the two. In a comical role, Thengakadai Thenappan (Vadivelu) is also sought after by a local police inspector who tries to solve the mystery of "Lord Muruga saving the people". The fate of Kanthaswamy's disguise leads into the climax of the story. The local police inspector was able to bring out the truth that a CBI is involved in the role behind the secret work of helping the needy people although he was not able to confirm it. Kanthaswamy finds the password of Subbulakshmi's family bank account, in which the black money is illegally saved. He tricks Subbulakshmi into revealing the password and answers for the security questions indirectly. Kanthaswamy finally transfers the money to his account which would be used for helping the poor and needy people. Ironically, in the end, Subbulakshmi's father was paralysed at the end knowing that the password which was used by him to access his black money was changed. After that Subbulakshmi and Kanthaswamy were married and were living in northern India. Kanthaswamy saw some letters tied to a tree, just like the ones at the Lord Muruga temple. He reads one and puts it into his pocket with a secret smile, which meant he will pursue being the anthropomorphic rooster again.
