Gerlind Cornell Borchers (16 March 1925 – 12 May 2014) was a German actress and singer, active in the late 1940s and 1950s, who starred along with Errol Flynn and Nat King Cole in the film Istanbul (1957).
She was married twice, first to Bruce Cunningham and then to Dr. Anton Schelkopf, a psychologist, physician and film producer, whom she first met when she starred in his films Schule für Eheglück (1954) and Rot ist die Liebe (1957), by whom she had one daughter, Julia Schelkopf, born in Munich, on 15 September 1962. The couple divorced later. She afterwards lived in Bavaria, Germany and died there in 2014.

Biography
Borchers was born in Šilutė (German: Heydekrug), Klaipėda Region (German: Memelland), Lithuania in a German either Prussian Lithuanian or Memellander family. She appeared on the cover of East German magazine Neue Film Welt of 1949, Volume 3, Issue 4. She won a BAFTA Film Award in the category of Best Foreign Actress in 1955 for the movie The Divided Heart of 1954. She retired from acting to raise her child.She was married twice, first to Bruce Cunningham and then to Dr. Anton Schelkopf, a psychologist, physician and film producer, whom she first met when she starred in his films Schule für Eheglück (1954) and Rot ist die Liebe (1957), by whom she had one daughter, Julia Schelkopf, born in Munich, on 15 September 1962. The couple divorced later. She afterwards lived in Bavaria, Germany and died there in 2014.

During World War II, a three-year-old boy is found wandering alone in Germany. No family can be traced, and it is presumed that his parents and siblings have been casualties of war. The child is placed in an orphanage, from where he is subsequently adopted by a childless couple, whom he grows to love and accept as his parents. When the boy is 10 years old, his natural mother is found alive in Yugoslavia where she has survived the war as a refugee. She returns to Germany to claim her child, having lost her husband and two other children in the war. The film focuses on the moral dilemma of the situation: should the child remain with the adoptive parents who have given him a loving and happy home, or be returned to his natural mother who has lost everything else, and to what extent should the child's own wishes be taken into account? The case is finally referred to a three-man court, who will decide the child's future. As in the true story on which the film is based, he is returned to his biological mother.

Off-duty American airmen of the 19th Troop Carrier Squadron in Hawaii are ordered to report to their squadron in July 1948. What is briefed as a temporary "training assignment" in the United States becomes a flight halfway around the world to Germany for the C-54 Skymasters of the 19th, where the Soviets have blockaded Berlin in an attempt to force out the Allies by starving the city. Tech Sgt. Danny MacCullough (Montgomery Clift), flight engineer of a C-54 nicknamed The White Hibiscus, is immediately ordered to fly with his crew from Frankfurt into Tempelhof Airport to deliver a load of coal. His friend Master Sgt. Hank Kowalski (Paul Douglas), a ground-controlled approach (GCA) operator, hitches a ride with them to his new station. Hank, a POW during World War II, resents the German people and goes out of his way to be rude and overbearing to them. Danny on the other hand is frustrated at being restricted to the airport because of the necessity of quickly offloading and returning to Frankfurt.

Dans le service de maternité du Dr Peter Heidt, la docteur Elisabeth Keller et l'infirmière Hedwig sont confrontées chaque jour à de nouveaux destins de femme. Le jeune Christine rejette son enfant à naître, car elle a été abandonnée par son petit ami tandis que la chanteuse Inge Jolander craint non seulement pour son apparence, mais aussi pour sa voix. Et la journaliste sportive Grit Harlacher apprend finalement qu'elle aura des jumeaux. Peter, Elizabeth et Hedwig peuvent résoudre tous ces problèmes : avec les mots, ils mettent fin aux soucis superficiels. Et Christine trouve chez le jardinier de la clinique un nouveau petit ami.
